Summary: The games itself is incredibly fun and challenging, but games for windows live soured the experience by forcing me to play offline and deleting my save after i had gotten to the end of the game. This game is fine but i understand why people pirate games now because of it.
Windows 8 Technical Notes (3-star rating is a placeholder)

Summary: Quick info for those running this on a Windows 8 PC... (1) DSFix is basically mandatory. I was stunned at how terrible this looked on my monitor (1080p), but DSFix cleared it right up. Thank goodness. (2) This will install Games for Windows Live. However! The version installed through Steam is NOT the right version for Windows 8. Your game will crash on startup.
Summary: Going straight to the point: Pros=> One of the best combat systems since Demon's Souls, blocking, reposit, parrying etc etc etc :-) The one game you cannot relax in, one wrong move and you die, so prepare to die (bad pun alert) Extremely difficult Boses and mini-boses, as well as resulting reward you get for defeating them.
Summary: I'm not going to lie, this is a fun game...for someone with a game pad. I found myself searching frantically for the A button to be able to play through the first 10 minutes of the game. It's almost impossible to play this without having the game pad, so along with it, if you don't own a wired X BOX 360 remote, to order a cheap generic gamepad to use to avoid the headaches.
Summary: I can't accurately review this product, he hasn't said much about it. He hasn't been able to play much due to the wonkiest controls in the history of video games. If you don't already have an Xbox controller that has a USB port get one. This game wasn't meant for keyboard and mouse.
great core product, terrible delivery and controls

Summary: The game is wonderful, and I recommend it to anyone who wants a challenging action RPG. But only get the PC version if you don't have a console. The purchase took 5 hours to verify and the download took 4 hours to complete. Add on another hour to create Windows Live and/or Steam accounts and you get a frustrating experience. It doesn't help that the controls are designed for a console controller. Advice: ditch your mouse and play with keyboard only.
Summary: Dark Souls was an excellent RPG for consoles and now finally PC gamers can experience it too. It's really great to play it. But be advised that the port from the consoles to the PC is very lazy. If you don't have a good game pad, don't even think about getting this. It's unplayable on Keyboard + Mouse. Basically, it's like playing a console game through some sort of emulator. You need to install various mods and fixes to truly enjoy this. It's still a great game though.
Summary: The Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition PC port of this excellent game is awful: Games for Windows Live, capped at 30 fps, 720p max internal resolution, minimal graphics options etc. Though the game is excellent and well worth to cope with this horrible port.
Summary: Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition is an amazing game with a well-made plot and customisation options. However, the game is mainly designed for consoles, so this PC version suffers from poorly integrated controls, 720p max internal resolution and FPS caps. But being a PC version, these issues could be resolved via using mods and a controller to play the game.
