Summary: Solid graphics; better than most FPS games I have played. Total play time was 56 hours to defeat and I really messed around. Very little replayability with this one; it is a straight path through with very specific goals in each stage. You can go off script, but there is little point. Not sure why, but game started glitching. Completing tasks would not trigger the next task so I would be stuck where I was. I needed to go back to previous save points to replay.
Summary: I bought this because the sequels look enticing and wanted to get familiar with the story from the beginning instead of diving first into the second or third chapter. But I think I missed the boat on this one. For some reason, Crysis (1) just wasn't doing it for me. Had some cool ideas, but I put it down and didn't feel like picking it back up.
Summary: Straight forward shooter with very little story or plot to make it more than that. Fun to blaze away at the bad guys but the linear storyline keeps it from being a world worth exploring. Graphics and software run great but doe require heavy duty computing power.
Summary: Ok so like others I was having problems running this on windows 7, 64 bit. I got it to work using this solution: This download does not contain the 64 bit files for some reason. You can get them here: [...] (Hopefully amazon wont remove this link..if they do, try to search for the 64 bit files with google..try typing "crysis bin64.rar" to find the folder) EDIT: Ok amazon is removing the link. If you cant find them via google email me: taintedbloop at gmail dot com.
Summary: I downloaded and the game doesnt start. Just for the future customers, if you have 64 bit windows 7, the pc download version has a 50-50 chance of working by making it compatible with windows vista service pack 2.
Even though it's old, it's still a great game. ONLINE ACTIVATION TO PLAY
21 February 2012
Summary: Great game even though it's linear. It will test your rig even at minimum settings so make sure you have the specs. Get the 1.1 ver. patch. Not crazy about the DRM and online activation. It should be required to be printed in BIG BOLD print on the packaging (I shouldn't need a magnifying glass to read the fine print) for those who do not have internet access to make an informed buying decision.
Summary: it's good up till the point where you go inside the mine, then it turns into an alien science fiction stuff and the graphics aren't as good. The rest of the game is overly difficult, for no reason other than just becuase it's a higher level, it's supposed to be difficult. The graphics in the beginning are incredible however.
