Flawed But Fun Single- and Multiplayer Make For a Great Overall Package

Game Informer
22 September 2009
  • Conclusion: Concept: Square off against North Koreans and hostile aliens in a new side-story campaign Graphics: Don't be fooled, the game's amazing graphics still push your rig to the max. Cutscenes also look great, but the later, ''emotional'' moments are spoiled by overacting and poor direction Sound: In case you can't tell by his accent, Psycho will constantly remind you that he's British, you muppet Playability: Scales down to accommodate weaker PCs, but finding the right...

Expert Review

Game Informer
20 April 2009
  • Summary: Whatever else it may have been, Crysis was a blast when it got out of its own way and allowed players to creatively abuse their nanosuit-granted super powers to dominate anything in their path. This standalone expansion aims to focus in on that aspect of the gameplay, and it largely succeeds. The story is still throwaway, but the action is more explosive than ever, the new weapons are fun, and not having null-gravity sections is a very good thing.

Game Boyz
31 January 2009
  • Excerpt: Following the excellent God Of War collection from earlier this year, Sony brings us The Sly Collection this holiday season. The Sly Collection packs all three PS2 games (Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2 Band of Thieves & Sly 3 Honor Among Thieves) into one fancy package, all remastered in high definition. Slap a somewhat budget price of $39 onto it and you have yourself a pretty nice little holiday gift.

Crysis Warhead

GamersHell.com
10 November 2008
  • Excerpt: This is basically Crysis on adrenalin, creating a more action packed but shorter first person shooter experience. It´s a beautiful game and Crytek surely know how to improve themselves and set new standards. The game is a “Stand Alone”; it does not require Crysis to be played, which is great in my opinion. Add Crysis Wars, the multiplayer feature of Crysis Warhead, to the mix, and you have a great gaming package for very little money!
  • Pros: Fantastic graphics, which you have come to expect from the Crytek studios., It is a great price for a beautiful and fun game, considering it also contains Crysis Wars., Stand alone! I honestly do not understand why they do not make more expansions “stand alone” They are effectively blocking out a large portion of the market by not making expansions as stand alone.
  • Cons: Short single player campaign

  • Summary: More brash and aggressive than his Delta Force squadmate Nomad, you'll experience Psycho’s parallel story during the events of the original, finding that life on the other side of the island is even more intense and explosive than you could have imagined.

Crysis Warhead

  • Excerpt: EA's first person shooter epic "Crysis" truly pushed the template for first person shooters which had extraordinary graphics and innovative gameplay that was not your traditional nor tired first person shooter game. The only drawback of Crysis on the PC was the system requirements which required a top end system and even if you had the latest graphic cards and CPU's, you were still not 100% guaranteed to run the game at full detail.

Crysis Warhead

ME Gamers
30 September 2008
  • Excerpt: First Impressions My reaction is Though the original Crysis garnered much critical acclaim, there was still a lot to be desired from it. Starting off well with a huge open world it became a bit too linear near the end, it was short, the multiplayer was lackluster and the biggest complaint was of the poor performance even on the mightiest of the setups.

Crysis: Warhead

Game Over Online
26 September 2008
  • Excerpt: If PC gaming is more than a casual thing for you, there invariably comes a title which reminds you that your system is outdated. Back in the early- to mid-90s this was often an Origin game, like Ultima VII or Strike Commander . id Software's Quake series did it for a lot of people, later in the decade, but the rise of consoles has flattened out the upgrade path considerably, to the point where two- or three-year old systems are still up to modern games.

Crysis Warhead

Gamer vision
24 September 2008
  • Excerpt: Crysis Warhead is a stand-alone expansion for last year’s hit PC title, Crysis , which means it doesn’t cost too much money and you don’t need the original game installed to play it. If you're an "average gamer," odds are you didn’t play it for the sole fact that your PC couldn’t handle it and you didn’t feel like spending two thousand dollars for one game.
