Summary: Cryostasis is a unique mix of different game play mechanics that you won't find in any other survival horror. Unique weapons from a world war time period to new inventions and the story makes you think unlike other games were the story is fed to you with a silver spoon.
Summary: It's a shame this game hasn't received a better critical reception than it has. Based on the critic reviews I feel that overall this game has been largely misunderstood. The biggest flaw in this game is - without argument - combat mechanics, particularly the melee combat.
Summary: Just finished this game, it isn't too long but is quite enjoyable with quite a rich and challenging story. I normally play RPG's but wanted a bit of a change, this game seemed to be what I was looking for.

Shadow of Chernobyl and it's prequel Clear Sky were probably two of the most original titles we have seen for a while and they seemed to set the stage for other titles from the former Soviet Union.
