Expert Review

  • Conclusion: Unfortunately, while much of the newer stuff works for selling the 'authenticity' of the game, it is sorely let down in important areas such as physics, player animations and responsiveness. The visual overhaul is nice, as is the all-new "Century Stick" batting system, but unless it all coalesces into a working affable experience, it's never going to be fun, and this is where Cricket 07 fails. It just feels a bit rushed and a bit flash.
  • Pros: "Century Stick" is a great addition, The Ashes Mode adds authenticity, Practicing in the nets is pretty cool
  • Cons: Animation trees are limited and can affect play of the ball, Ball physics aren't at all convincing, Looking forward to next-gen visuals on Cricket 08 because the series looks dated

  • Excerpt: Can England take the Ashes? This review originally posted at MentalGamers – http://www.mentalgamers.com/game_reviews.php?r=36 I’ve never played a cricket video game before so I really didn’t know what to expect of EA Sport’s Cricket ’07. It feels a lot like the FIFA series in terms of the menus and soundtrack though, so I instantly felt quite at home.
  • Pros: Plenty of game modes
  • Cons: Probably only appeals to hardcore cricket fans, Need a control pad to get the most out of it, Crap commentary
