Excerpt: Who could have possibly imagined that a game where you essentially play the council would ever be as fun as this. You get given a patch of land and it is up to you to choose what sort of housing or amenities you build on it. You then have to choose tenants to live in the houses which come with varying attributes such as what upgrades they expect, what rent they pay and what they expect the local area to be like.
Excerpt: After seeing this title on the shop shelf I immediately knew that this would be my type of game, with a kind of theme park concept, but with houses, I knew I was in business. Best of all, it was only going to set me back a fiver. I knew that at this price it wasn’t going to be the most up to date game on the market, but I was sure to last me at least a couple of hours, right?
Excerpt: This game, although quite old now, is THE game! It is quite complex, and so it takes quite a while to get into the game, but once you have the knack of playing it, you will NEVER stop playing it! I have had this game for about 2 years, and i am STILL playing it, as it is VERY obssessive and addictive!
Pros: Cheap in shops, Game play is AMAZING
Cons: Graphics Sound are not up to todays standards, but are good enough for me !
Excerpt: I found this game fun to play. it was a resonble price and looked intresting so i brought it. when i came home i installed it and played it. the instructions in the book were easy enough to follow, bascially the hole point of the game is to build and matine houses, you have to build a neighboor hood and you have diffenet levels of people. e.g like the slobs go in2 the lower houses , and the higher class the people the better houses they get.
Excerpt: Constructor is a game with qualities way ahead of its time, the game has some tremendous features as well as a couple of downers. The general aim of the game is to build a huge estate of the best quality you possibly can, to stop you doing this your rival will pull all sorts of devious stunts that will stop you in your tracks from pickets by hippies and sending in a madman with a chainsaw to destroy your buildings.
Excerpt: This is a game that is slightley different from other building sims. It puts you into a dictatorship situation. You tell everybody what to do. You are the boss. You can play in three different difuiculty levels. Each level alows you to play in different situations with different sanarious. You start with a small plot of land and start building. You have to build up a small town whilst compeating with a computer opponent.
Excerpt: Nestled in the heart of New York City is Nike's latest tribute to consumerism, a huge multi-million dollar, ultra-high-tech shop selling nothing but trainers. Rows and rows of the buggers, all available from the electronic stock room at the touch of a button. It's big, brash, very American and very expensive. One punter, having just left the shop empty-handed, was asked why he didn't buy anything, to which he simply replied: 'Too much choice.
Excerpt: THE WRITE UP FOR THIS GAME SOUNDS INTERESTING BUT ONCE YOU START PLAYING IT YOU'LL SEE THAT IT ISN'T REALLY ALL IT IS CRACKED UP TO BE. YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF THE BRITISH OR GERMAN AIRCRAFT FLEET DURING THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN. ALL YOU DO IS SENT FIGHTERS, BOMBERS OR RECONS FROM ONE BASE TO ANOTHER OR ACROSS TO GERMANY. AFTER A WHILE THE GERMANS ATTACK YOU AND YOU HAVE TO SEND UP MORE AIRCRAFT TO DESTROY THEM.
Excerpt: Constructor is now an old game but it still is very enjoyable to play. The basic idea of the game is to build and maintain houses…. And oh yes to make lots and lots of money. You can play this game on a 486 and it runs perfectly. Of course the program runs from DOS, but it still can be launched from a DOS window in Windows. I found that it gave me a few error messages.
