   While the game does feature two campaigns, the length is about the same as the original title, and is good value for the admission fee. The title also has enough replayability in the form of the entertaining multiplayer mode, which like the offline campaign, can be ecstatic fun. Read more

   is a great example of a modern trend to make the genre more immersive by making the battles larger in scale and scope and pulling you into them. You feel like a general in charge of troops that actually exist as people - your good decisions will send many of them to their deaths, while your bad decisions will kill them all. The game plays out with plenty of in-game cutscenes as well as just watching battles in progress - and all of it includes voices of soldiers on ... Read more

   With apologies to the Combat Mission franchise, Opposing Fronts has started to encroach on the "pure sim" functions of "dice rolling" strategy games, but wrapping it all up in good looking, frenetic action make it accessible to a much wider audience.  Nevermind that this is an "expansion" -- at $40US this is a very good game.
