  • Conclusion: At the end of the day this was a game that I wanted to like after the rest of the series, but it just didn't deliver when I really wanted it to. There was one mission that brought out the intensity that I expected, but it was over too soon and right back to the problems that preceded it.

  • Summary: The Commandos series dates back to 1998, and it was always a whole lot easier to like than it was to describe. While the Commandos trilogy looked and played like real-time strategy games, they combined tactical action and puzzlelike situations from an isometric perspective.
  • Pros: Successfully applies some elements from the Commandos strategy games, Fairly open-ended levels let you tackle objectives out of order
  • Cons: Disappointingly dumb enemy artificial intelligence, Missions often boil down to trial and error, Bland presentation, Multiplayer's nothing special and no one's playing it
