List All 4 PricesCommand and Conquer III - Kane’s Wrath
Command and Conquer III-Kane’s Wrath is the first add-on for the successful stand alone ‘Command and Conquer III-Tiberian Wars’. But where as the latter plays in the year 2052, takes us Kane’s Wrath to a trip in the past, in the year 2034.
The games was released on March 24th 2008 and is published by EA Games. Kane’s Wrath is of course based on characters and gameplay of the forerunners, especially the third part, Tiberian Wars, but starts with an own story, that is not directly connected to them (and this even though the Tiberian Wars ended with a terrible cliffhanger, that strongly demands for a sequel). Graphic and sound are almost the same, beside some few new effects. The game costs around 30 Euros.
The add-on is based on one campaign, which itself is divided into three main chapters. The three chapters are again divided into 13 missions. The player follows the game through 13 years of history. In the first four missions, the players learns how Kane managed to survive the war. Not only that, he was even able to fight himself back to the top of the NOD. The player himself is in the beginning not aware of his own true identity, it will be revealed during the process of the story.
The second chapter and the next seven missions are playing during the third Tiberian War. You are still fighting against the GDI but this time you are supported by Alexa Kovaca, who helps you in small extra missions.
The last and third chapter is again taking place in the year 2052. Three missions are left where the player finally learns about his own identity and helps to fulfil Kane’s Wrath.
Though the campaign is not very extensive and relatively soon completed, the game includes a multi-player modus, which comes with almost 60 multi player cards. The games also features some new kinds of units or troops, e.g. the gigantic Epic Units, that are able to destroy buildings with a single shot.

Online play is as good as we’ve seen out of the genre on console, mostly because of the improved controls, but C&C 3’s reliance on hard counters, unit specials, and speedy expansion is a terrible fit for the limitations of the gamepad interface. Kane’s Wrath executes its mediocre ideas solidly, but that doesn’t make it any more fun to play. Read more

Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath is an expansion that will satisfy the legions of hardcore Command & Conquer fans but it’s difficult to see it impressing many of them. The single campaign on offer is ultimately disappointing although, to be fair, it does have its moments. The Global Conquest mode is certainly an interesting addition and is a decent Risk-style experience although it may not be to every Command & Conquer fans taste because after all it’s a turn-based ... Despite my hang-ups I still recommend you get Kane's Wrath if you already own C&C3. The Nod-centred story is sure to please any C&C fan, the new Epic units are ridiculous fun to use and the core gameplay essence hasn't been messed about with. Just do me a favour and ignore the Global Conquest mode, OK? Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath is out for PC now. Read more
