Summary: As a software developer for nearly 20 years in the gaming industry, I know a little bit about this stuff. The very fact that a customer who meets the ESRB requirements on the box but can't install it because of GFWL is false advertising.
Pros: This game is a ton of fun! Great LAN / Internet play, fun circuit races and stunning, I mean stunning graphics. DX11 support is amazing. I'm running dual Radeon HD 6850's across 3 24" monitors and it's an amazing site. This game is beautiful! Great job, Codemasters! I'll be playing this for a lon...
Cons: Games for Windows Live is probably the worst application ever written. Okay, maybe not the worst, but it's awful. Read other comments as to why. Oh, just so you know, Dirt 2 is amazing and Codemasters deserves a 10 star review for this game, but because it's GFWL, I give it 3 stars - GFWL is that...
Summary: GFWL had me very very mad. I bought this game for me and my son to play over the weekend and couldn't because we never could get GFWL working. Not until today did I see you can create an offline profile but I'm still not sure if you can play multiplayer.
Pros: Great Graphics Mulitplayer Tons of prizes Very fun and did I say great graphics
Cons: Games for Windows Live (GFWL) Did I say Games for Windows Live
Summary: I love playing the game..................when it works. It crashes constantly on my Windows 7 64 bit machine and the only way I have found to fix it, although temporarily, is to completely remove and install again.
Summary: Bought the game a while ago and since have completed it twice its that much fun. What it lacks in car mods in depth car tuning and car custom visuals it makes up for in just hours and hours of fun.
Summary: It is a pretty graphics intensive game, which is a wonderful thing for visuals, not so much for your pocket. I dropped 400 bucks on a 5870 to get sixty something FPS with eye candy enabled. The game itself is decent. Car customization is pretty much limited to visual upgrades and changes.
Pros: - Great graphics, which is its main draw. - DirectX 11 does make things look better if you have a card that supports it
Cons: - Windows Live. Same thing with GTA 4. Seriously, I have to install more software and make things more complicated why?
Summary: I was so offended by the optional but harassing Games for Windows Live that I didn't sign up. Once you submit to the beast and give your pint of blood (i.e. give out your personal info to get an account), the game works much better and is really fun.
Pros: Great graphics, fun game, good use of Momo ff wheel
Cons: Games Live for Windows REQUIRED. Way too hard for my 4yr old.
Summary: The game could have been better by better organizing the progression system. They should have done something closer to the old Colin McRae rally game.
Pros: Graphics are great frame rate is excellent (67 fps) on mid range machines Physics for the cars is excellent The rally and rally cross part is really good. Baja and raid is ok AMD X2 7750 (3.0ghz) 8800GT 4 gigs of XMS 2 (PC 6400) resolution 1360*768 67 fps with everything on :)
Cons: The progression system is disorganized. The animation after completing a race is annoying after a while, the little comments are annoying. The AI is not so good.
Excerpt: I'm not usually a fan of racing games. I like playing some of them but I’m so bad with them that I usually end up getting stuck at some point along the line and have to give up. So you’re probably wondering why I bought Dirt and the fact is I didn’t, I got it free when I bought a new graphics card...
Pros: You get to travel all over the world racing on tonnes of different tracks
Cons: You can't play the game without a Windows Live account and would of liked more car tinkering
