Summary: I have a Mac OSX version 10.9.2 and I can't get it to play on my computer, I get error messages that say failed. I get error messages that say failed lloading XML file Assets//XNML\Gameinfo/CIV4playerOptioninfos.xml. and LoadXML call failed for Gameinfo/CIV4playerOptioninfo.xml.Current XML file is: Unless somneone can help me to figure this out, it's a total rip off and I don't recommend it even for a $20 mistake. Wont be downloading like this again.
Summary: The product was worthless to me as it is incompatible with Windows 7 operating program. Civilization IV is my favorite computer game, tremendously superior to its successor Civilization V. I would love to get a version of Civ IV which works with Windows 7. The cost of the unusable product is so low that it is not worth the numerous hours of communication necessary to get either a solution or a refund.
Summary: If you try to install it on 64-bit Windows 7, it doesn't install. I get the message The program of feature "\??\E\Civ4\autorun.exe" cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available.
Summary: I know the game itself is awesome, having played it before. However, for whatever reason, i am unable to use this download at all on my computer. I don't understand why. I will probably never download something like this again. Waste of $.
Summary: I'm not really sure what's up, but I can't seem to run this game on my computer. I looked at the recommended specifications, noted that my macbook pro should be more than capable of playing it, and downloaded it. While it was downloading I took the time to read a few of the reviews, where users were complaining that the game crashes, even on the lowest settings. At the time, I chalked this up to old hardware, since many of the reviews are 4 or more years old.
Summary: Like many others, I downloaded this to a Mac Air - nothing. Amazon customer service was less than helpful (which is unusual as they are generally very good). I just chalk this up as a $20 learning experience and won't buy software from Amazon in the future.
Summary: Fantastic game, but BUY THE OTHER VERSION. It's both cheaper and has no DRM. As there is literally no upside to the DRM for the user, buying this is a terrible idea. I fly back and forth to Beijing twice per year and typically have no Internet for the majority of the time whilst there. One version of this game allows me to play while traveling, and one doesn't. Simple as that.
