The definitive super-powered MMO.

penpensith, Ebay

  • Summary: All in all it's a pretty good MMO. The graphics are good and so is the character customization. The holiday events and rate of new content is decent as well. The game does however lack a certain depth and there's not much end-game stuff to do other than farm badges.

It Unlocks New Costume Options BUT....

  • Summary: I started playing City of Heros 18 months ago after pressure from my husband to try it out. Well, I'm hooked! Because City Of Heros was offering extra character slots and costume options and no additional monthly fee, I decided to purchase 2 copies.

  • Summary: The game is somewhat slow moving and has no real change from the first- basically it is recycled. The good thing is that your villain can interact with heroes.

  • Summary: City of Villains is essentially the same game and same experience that City of Heroes was with a few bells and whistles added like base building. • Summary: It just doesn't feel ready for prime time. Playing during a relative low period the lag is pretty bad. The PvP is fairly boring thus far.

To the rescue... or to the pain!

  • Excerpt: ~ The quickie review (for those who don't want to read that lot!) ~ City of Heroes and City of Villains are basically 2 games that run coincidentally on the same servers. They run the same basic game mechanics, levelling mannerisms.
  • Pros: You get to play a super hero or villain
  • Cons: usual elitists

Great Idea, Average Implementation

  • Conclusion: I've now played this game twice, in effect; once when City of Heroes was new, and then again when City of Villains came onto the scene.

Not here for much longer

Ian Stock, Amazon

  • Summary: As much as this game used to be fun, waaaaaaay back (we're talking the launch year for both games) it peaked too early and contained far too many bugs that todays games seem to have as well. The game itself however is being turned off within a few months, so for collectors this is ideal.
