Summary: CoV doesn't have a much different feel than CoH. Not much is really new besides the outdoor maps and a couple powersets. It really bugged me when a totally new power used the exact same sound effect as another one in CoH.
Pros: Better graphics and music than CoH. Slightly newer mission maps. New ATs and powers. Environments seems more lively/unpredictable than CoH.
Cons: A lot of the powers are the exact same ones from CoH. Even sounds on new powers are repeated. Low FPS even on decent systems(avg 20fps on 6600GT,A64 3200, 2Gb Ram). Again, like CoH, gets repetitive quickly, about after level 20.
Summary: City of Villains is essentially the same game and same experience that City of Heroes was with a few bells and whistles added like base building. Running a mission in an office building against the Council with a Dark Melee/Invulnerable Brute in Villains is essentially the same experience as running...
Summary: As much as this game used to be fun, waaaaaaay back (we're talking the launch year for both games) it peaked too early and contained far too many bugs that todays games seem to have as well. The game itself however is being turned off within a few months, so for collectors this is ideal.
Excerpt: ~ The quickie review (for those who don't want to read that lot!) ~ City of Heroes and City of Villains are basically 2 games that run coincidentally on the same servers. They run the same basic game mechanics, levelling mannerisms.
