Summary: This game is a nice solid 6 for this point-and-click genre. When first started, has nice graphics, nice music, a nice main character, and gives a very pleasant feel to the game. It is unfortunate it is let down by having some odd and nonsensical dialogue to bring you along, the terrible ending (though that bothers me less if the journey to the ending is nice, which it is, but still, it is a very lazy ending), and that it is very short.
Summary: Yes, really beautiful scenes and a fun main character, and it's great they even gave her a shadow. However, Sylvie walks a little ... too ... slowly, and making her run involved many double-clicks. The ending is abrupt and sorely lacks a sense of resolution, so just enjoy the ride.
Summary: The highlight of this game is the well-presented graphics. The voice work is uneven but the main characters are done well. The story is yet another riff on the Knight of the Templar and remains serviceable until the ridiculous ending. The biggest problem is that the game is excessively linear even for the genre. You simply cannot do any actions until some prior action has been done and the game informs you of this bluntly.
Summary: I’m afraid I have to agree with most of the negative reviews. Granted the locations were beautiful and I lingered often to take them in. The interface was easy to use and the voice acting was pretty good. But from there it was all downhill. The confusing story was not very compelling, considering the dire consequences of failure. I also felt there was too much filler. There was a lot of back & forth for little reward, similar to the ploy used in HOGs.
Summary: I bought this game, and yes its fun, and the story is good. (yea, ther is a but a coming), BUT...it is WAY too easy. I started it lastnite, and played a few hours and I finished it tonight. the ending is abrupt and offers no satisfaction. If you are a beginner at games you will love it, but a mystery game lover who has been around a little while...way too easy. BUT...it is worth the money I spent, I just wish it would have offered me more.
Summary: After finishing COM: Tree of Life, I had to go back and play this one. I was not disappointed in the least and had no glitches or technical problems. The story comes alive through the visually stunning details of the scenes. My favorite was outside of the temple surrounded by the sea...unbelievably realistic. Yes, characters were at times a bit off in form, but it didn't take away from the story.
Summary: I couldn't wait for this game to be over. Toward the end I used the walkthrough frequently, just to finish the game. The hints were not very helpful. It told you where you had to do something, but didn't tell you what or if you had already completed the task in that area. I kept running all over the place trying to figure out what to do. It became very tedious and the story was not engaging at all. The ending was so anticlimactic.
Summary: "Chronicles of Mystery: The Scorpio Ritual" is the first in the Chronicles of Mystery series, and it's a pretty good start to a hopefully long-running series. It contains a good story, awesome graphics, and decent voice acting. However, amongst these good points, there are a few things to improve on.
