Summary: Locomotion is a game that is designed to accomadate the rare patient people who enjoy to watch and imagine train glory. I played the demo, and from that it seemed to be a jungled mess of trains and other stuff go this and that way, too advanced controls, and he seemed money hungry for this one,(his...
Summary: I bought this game based on Chris Sawyers reputation and my enjoyment of games of this type, but when I installed it I was stunned. This game uses the exact same graphics engine as Rollercoaster Tycoon 1!
Summary: As a strategy fan, I can generally accept a clunky interface and sub-standard graphics, but in this case they've ruined the game for me. Laying track/roads is very cumbersome and maddening. Routing is no picnic either.
Excerpt: Locomotionis made by atari and is a great game for the tycoon. It is a sequal to Transport tycoon which i can say or though simple graphics and the need to use DOS is one of my all time favourites.
Excerpt: Having played Chris Sawyer's Rollercoaster games, this game did not quite impress so much. It is however, a huge hit when played alongside my 5 and 3 year old children. They love watching the trams and trains bustle by, picking the livery colours, and such.
Pros: scenario editor, diferent levels of play, varied landscapes, and different time periods
Cons: engine does not place industries in logical proximities and vehicles can act irrationally
Summary: I used to play Transport Tycoon a lot when I was younger. A great game, I have recently had cravings to play it again. I discovered Locomotion, and on hearing that it was the 'Spiritual Successor' to Transport Tycoon, I had to purchase - at only £10 it seemed worth the punt.
Excerpt: Having played Transport Tycoon for the best part of a decade – I think I started playing in around January 1996, the question of whether or not to purchase the “spiritual sequel" was a pointless – of course I would, not least because the game had an inflation busting EUR 19.90 price tag - I'd...
Pros: More transport, more opponents, more music, more tycoonery . . .
Cons: Some scenarios are exceptionally easy, still some very silly AI
