Cargo Commander

2 September 2013
  • Summary: Space. Since the dawn of time, man has looked up at the sky and dreamed what incredible wonders could be out there. There could be new planets with advanced civilizations, moons made entirely out of dairy products, and attractive humanoid species that we can somehow mate properly with, or at least use to get our rocks off.

Boxed In

  • Conclusion: Occasionally a crystal in a one-block room will spawn a bunch of large enemies, leading to a clown-car-like effect. Trust me, you do not want to drill that room open.
  • Pros: Snagging a sector pass from a complicated container just as the wormhole starts to pull it apart.
  • Cons: A sector pass container full of explosive enemies and no path around.

  • Conclusion: A fun platformer that gives random generation an online twist, but lack of depth stops this from being a job for life.

Review: Cargo Commander

New Gamer Nation
7 December 2012
  • Conclusion: In terms of presentation, the first paragraph already praised the title theme quite extensively, but the rest of the sound design is of a high quality as well. The graphics use a fairly simple and straightforward art style, but it suits the material well and the engine captures the physics of the wormhole-based destruction rather nicely.

Cargo Commander

Hooked Gamers
10 November 2012
  • Conclusion: So, at the end of the day, does Cargo Commander hold its own? The answer is a definitive yes. While repetitiveness and randomization are a concern in the long term, the game does a lot of things right and provides hours and hours of gameplay for less than the cost of a movie ticket. The atmosphere is perfect, gameplay is tight and it has a compulsive quality to keep players coming back for just one more wave.

Cargo Commander

4 March 2013
