It's fun if you can get it to run

Joshua Hensley, Amazon
18 June 2014
  • Summary: It's really poorly optimized so it can take some fiddling with it to get it going but it does usually run well enough if you get there.

  • Summary: Not much new here, just a standard COD WWII game, they all look alike and get old after so long.

Fun offline and co op but online play is un populated

Jeremy, Amazon
30 May 2014
  • Summary: The campaign is great and the nazi zombies is a lot of fun, but playing online is causing me to lose interest. You have to download old punk buster versions to make it work properly, the servers all show people in them but they are bots and you are redirected to games that are probably empty. Not many people play online anymore too which is a bummer. Nazi zombie co op is mildly populated but you may need to add people as friends from community site to play co cop.

Too short

Thomas H. Birch, Amazon
22 May 2013
  • Summary: Game play is as expected, but the game is a bit short. This game is a slight improvement over COD 1 and 2, which I also enjoy playing.

COD World at War falls short

Midwest Monty, Amazon
1 January 2009
  • Summary: I have been a fan of the Call of Duty series from the beginning and have owned and played every new release. Like every other COD fan I was anxious for this new release. Now... I am really disappointed. The game installs and plays fine for me... no technical problems (out of the norm) to speak of. It falls short in game play and fun. As with Treyarch's other "masterpiece", Call of Duty 3, this one falls short.

Good, but a BAD sequel. No Innovation. Nothing New

Brian Dowrick, Amazon
20 November 2008
  • Summary: They didn't do anything new in this one, except add some Japan stuff. The missions are too short. I finished the whole thing in two days of play. What I would have liked to see: --Larger world = roam anywhere. You are restricted so much on where you can go in this. You are in a jungle, and run into hard plants. --It's never clear what you can jump over or on.

Solid shooter, somewhat unworthy of the name

gh0ti2, Play.com
13 November 2008
  • Conclusion: Call of Duty Modern Warfare was a major step forwards for a venerable franchise. It stepped out of its comfort zone, and attempted to turn its own brand of frenetic first-person shooter action away from the confines of the overused arenas of the Second World War and into the near future and a hypothetical modern day conflict.
