Summary: I am new to first-person shooter video gaming. I'm 60 years old and grew up in the military. This product is excellent - it's well researched and very entertaining. Even though this is game has been on the market for years, and may be considered "old-school" by younger people it is still fun to play and was priced right. I will definitely be adding games from this series to my collection soon. I can't wait to see the Modern Warfare offerings.
Summary: I love this game. Super fun to play. It actually has a good storyline unlike these repetative ones that are coming out today. Nazi Zombies is also super fun. Runs great on windows 8. I use a Logitech 710 gamepad, and to use that or any other controller enter in the commands(enter by enabling in the setting and then pressing the key to the left of 1) exec default_controller.cfg.
Fun offline and co op but online play is un populated
30 May 2014
Summary: The campaign is great and the nazi zombies is a lot of fun, but playing online is causing me to lose interest. You have to download old punk buster versions to make it work properly, the servers all show people in them but they are bots and you are redirected to games that are probably empty. Not many people play online anymore too which is a bummer. Nazi zombie co op is mildly populated but you may need to add people as friends from community site to play co cop.
Summary: If you are on the fence about buying this, then you are probably a big fan willing to jump back into the fray with this title. You remember how much fun it used to be and wonder if you will still find it fun. Well, let me promise you this: it is still a lot of fun. The graphics on PC are really pretty great. The sound is crisp and realistic. Firing these guns is perhaps the most satisfying quality of World at War. They sound and feel real.
