Call of Duty: World at War UK Review

IGN
17 November 2008
  • Conclusion: Although World at War too often feels like a refit, it’s a refit of one of the greatest games of the current generation - and one that’s, by and large, been confidently handled by Treyarch. The WWII setting compounds the wearying feeling of over-familiarity, but the solid engine that powers the game ensures that it’s often the most spectacular take on the conflict yet, and one that’s certainly the most exhilarating.

Call of Duty: World at War review

Gameplanet
17 November 2008
  • Excerpt: Call of Duty: World at War is more than a rehash. It provides a refreshing change to the well known maps and weapons from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and makes some positive changes. The single-player campaign involves a riveting and emotional story, and the inclusion of co-op is fantastic. The game itself however is heavily weighted towards multiplayer, as was its predecessor.
  • Pros: Based on the fabulous Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare engine. Spectacular multiplayer, and the option to search for games locally. Excellent change of scenery to WWII, very solid single-player. Co-op.
  • Cons: Single-player a little short, WWII setting won't appeal to all. Weighted very much towards online play (if this can be considered a bad thing).

Call of Duty: World at War Review

GamingTrend
22 August 2008
  • Excerpt: The Call of Duty series is one of the most successful first-person shooter franchises in history. Beginning with the first game back in 2003, the series has gone on to multi-platform success. To date, the franchise has spawned an expansion pack, four sequels, and three unique console games (not including cross-platform titles). The first three games (and its console cousins) all took place during World War II.

Expert Review

BigPond GameArena
6 June 2008
  • Conclusion: Overall Call of Duty World at War is a great game with some great ideas, but it feels too familiar to be a real must have title. If World War II FPS are your bag you'll have a tough time finding a better game - if you're neither here nor there on the genre give the demo a go first.
  • Pros: Great singleplayer campaign., Love the Pacific Theatre., Gary Oldman and Keifer Sutherland? Sign me the hell up!, Nazi Zombies., Coop for life.
  • Cons: Too familiar., World War II again., Multiplayer maps aren't well balanced.

Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies

InsideGamer
5 May 2010
  • Conclusion: In Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies vecht je een bikkelharde strijd uit met nazi-zombies.

Call of Duty: World at War

Techzine
29 November 2008

Call Of Duty : World At War

Tom's Games
14 November 2008
