Call of Duty World at War is an excellent game overall, it’s got everything that any gamer would want in a game of this type, blood, gore, violence, bad language and so much more. Treyarch does a great job utilizing the COD4 engine for this game, and the added co-op mode is a nice bonus, as is the Nazi Zombies at the end of the game. Read more
The odds have always been stacked against Call of Duty: World at War. This sequel revisits an undeniably exhausted FPS setting—World War II—and wasn’t designed by series creator Infinity Ward, but Treyarch has delivered a sufficiently compelling shooter. World at War doesn’t bring any lasting innovations to the FPS genre, but it has enough unrelenting shootouts and dramatically scripted events to keep us immersed in the action. Read more
Is Call of Duty: World at War, also known as Call of Duty 5, any better than Call of Duty 4? This article will compare and contrast the two games, plus go over what all is new in CoD5. Read more
If you love World War II and really want to play what might just be the last best game set in the conflict, then take this release, install it and play through the campaign on the hardest difficulty level. If you get a friend to join you, the whole experience will be better. Then, take the disk and frame it, while swearing you'll never touch a shooter set before the 1950's (unless a totally cool World War I Stormtrooper FPS comes up). Read more
In my opinion, Madden 10 is a must have for fans of the series and football loving casual gamers alike. Obviously those that do not like football, will not appreciate Madden for what it is, but sports gamers will be glad to hear that they will be satisfied this year. Madden 10 has injected a terrific and much needed breath of fresh air into the life of the struggling series. Read more
When a game makes a big impact on the industry, the pressure increases for a follow up to match the success. When you have two different developers working on the same franchise you can expect some differences between instalments. Infinity Ward developed the brilliant Call of Duty 2, only for Treyarch to follow it up with the above average Call of Duty 3. Read more
Moving back to the CoD’s saga roots, World at War takes us back to World War II. Well, a few snapshots of the immense 6-year conflict that is. There are two main theaters this time, the Pacific and the Eastern Front. The player follows the paths of two soldiers, fighting for the USMC and the Red Army in a series of heavily scripted missions and ‘levels on rails’. Read more

Overall Call of Duty World at War is a great game with some great ideas, but it feels too familiar to be a real must have title. If World War II FPS are your bag you'll have a tough time finding a better game - if you're neither here nor there on the genre give the demo a go first. Read more
Hey,everyone's on the P.S.3 wagon,or the XBOX wagon as well I know. I've had the doe to get one or the other a number of times, but I just LOVE my P.S.2!! I can't seem to let it go. I recently got the 'On Line' unit so I can play games such as this On Line and a ton of other titles as well..It's half the price (most of the time even less) for the titles that are made for all systems. Yes, I know that the graphics are more realistic.. Read more or see product
I bought this game for PC after getting a brand new laptop, and the game runs extremely well maxed out on a 560M 128Bit 2GB GPU, so that's good. The issue is, I was hoping to get a similar experience to what I used to get on Xbox playing this game, but on PC, almost all the servers have stupid rules like "crouch only" games and most servers have 32 player TDM settings which makes it a real big campfest.. Being the 2nd game I played in this series, COD-4 being the first all I can say is Activision you have done it again!!!!! I am glad this game went back to actually having to have skills to kill people, it was a little too easy in COD-4, bravo for that Activision! The flame thrower is by far the most fun weapon imo, the feeling you get when you run up to someone and set them on fire makes me LOL, nothing makes you laugh harder in Vent then when you set your friend on...
