Call of Duty - United Offensive

Gameguru Mania
17 December 2005
  • Excerpt: There's no doubt that last year's Call of Duty ( review 94%) contained some of the most fun I've had with a first-person shooter in years. It was the most intense, WWII FPS I have ever played. The expansion pack, Call of Duty: United Offensive, takes the already strong gameplay of the original and offers up even more dramatic moments on the battlefields of World War II.

Call of Duty: United Offensive

The Gamers Temple
25 September 2005
  • Excerpt: Just one of the large battles you'll be a part of. Call of Duty was released in 2003 and immediately developed a very loyal following. Not surprising for a game that featured excellent level design, compelling gameplay, and top-notch production values … and that was an absolute blast to play. Now Call of Duty has an expansion pack in United Offensive that attempts to extend the magic of the original with a whole new campaign of missions and some multiplayer enhancements.

The Laser

  • Summary: Expanded Multiplayer action, playable vehicles, three new historically accurate single player campaigns, and the addition of new weapons to the various World War II themed arsenals are just a few of the gems gamers will find in United Offensive. This expansion pack for the critically acclaimed 2003 WWII shooter Call of Duty takes an already incredible gaming experience and elevates it to new PC gaming heights, giving players more of the gritty combat scenarios that they...

  • Excerpt: Call of Duty remains a popular WWII game. Known for it's cinematic gameplay and an intense single player mode, CoD managed to topple the Medal of Honor franchise for top solo historical action. Call of Duty: United Offensive brings more solo action and enhanced multiplayer to the game, both of which are welcome additions.

Call of Duty: United Offensive

Thunderbolt Games
28 October 2004
  • Excerpt: Last year, we followed Infinity Ward as they stormed the dugouts of the WWII shooter genre with Call of Duty and promptly put a bullet through Medal of Honor ‘s head. They moved quickly and with force, with little resistance at all coming from the EA camp. No backup came, no-one dared to challenge their position.

The Greatest Generation's Game

GIN
25 October 2004
  • Excerpt: It can be difficult making a sequel, or even an add-on pack, to a popular game. It's almost like a company is being set up to fail. With the bar set so high it becomes difficult for a firm to fulfill the expectations of the rabid fan base of the previous installment. Nonetheless, Activision came out with Call of Duty: United Offensive"sequel to the very successful Call of Duty. And they succeeded. CoD: United Offensive is the equal or better of the original in all ways.

The Wargamer

  • Excerpt: It took me a long time to motivate myself to play the original Call of Duty. Sure, I tried the demos, eyed the box at Best Buy, and considered Jim Zabek's glowing review, but it still took me four months to actually get a copy and force myself to play through it. That's particularly odd for me because I usually jump at every chance I get to play good first-person shooters, no matter if they're set in World War II or in the depths of Hell.
