Summary: Most people buy this game for the online play. The truth is that Black Ops is a failure for multiplayer use. Lobbies are never synchronized....leaving huge gaps in aiming and target hit markers. Often times you can be killed without ever having actually been in view of the enemy. The spawns are horrible. Enemy players can sit where you will spawn in front of them, allowing them to shoot you without a chance of even getting one step taken.
Summary: This game is not worth its current price. Far less, in fact. Beware its fatal flaw - it will lag painfully on computers and despite many patches from Treyarch and plenty of optimizing methods to increase FPS in multiplayer, the game will still freeze frequently. The single player is palatable for a first time runthrough, but it's far from something you'll keep in your long-term memory.
Epic waste of money that came broke and to this day has yet to be patched correctly.

Summary: This game could have been the greatest. It certainly looked the part. However, it's so riddled with performance issues, UI bugs and terribly small maps that it was nothing short of the "ultimate scam" from the developer. I'm wildly unhappy with the game and the lack of attention from the publisher regarding its issues.
Summary: UPDATE2 - More patches (Why doesn't Treyarch / Steam even ask to install updates?) and this game is finally starting living up to it's potential. Still has major bugs in the server browser and frequent server-side crashes don't help. UPDATE - I have added a star after a patch and some tweaking. The game is still buggy, but playable. I really hate spending $60. to be a beta tester. This game has tremendous potential that is being crushed by technical fumbles.
Summary: I was a little surprised at how low the ratings are for Black Ops, I've actually liked it better that Modern Warfare 2, and wonder where the venom is coming from. Last time time it was the multiplayer, this time it seems to be something else. Yes, the game is geared more towards console players, that's the way things are today, but it's still enjoyable on the PC.
Summary: Call of Duty: Black Ops is a poor attempt to keep up with Modern Warfare 2. While the graphics are quite nice they far from make up from the massive amount of problems with the rest of the game. If you're looking to buy this for PC I would highly recommend not wasting your money until Treyarch learns how to properly make a good game. For starters the multiplayer system is very very poorly designed.
