Excellent version

  • Summary: An excellent addition to the Caesar series. For it's age, still visually stunning with captivating challenges. A must-have for fans of city builders.

The best god game yet.

R. Stephen Franks, Amazon
15 March 2014
  • Summary: I have grown up with the evolutionary changes and improvements to the four Sims called Caesar. I put off purchasing this sim for years. The visual quality and solid economic engine makes this one of the best "time killing" sims written. The military aspect is not neglected. Much time and city planning is necessary before raising an army. And, the demanding steps one must take to create an army are much welcomed.

The only better game is Civ V.

Steven Pereira, Amazon
6 February 2014
  • Summary: I played this game so often that it became a problem...I hardly slept and it made waking up early for work a pain in the but. I might actually prefer this game over V. as you can pile as many weapons as you'd like on one tile...where in V. you can have only one weapon on a tile.

A regular in the gaming rotation for years

Scott C. Hensel, Amazon
29 November 2013
  • Summary: Great builder with some military involved. Hours of good gaming here. Love the way the campaigns are setup so you can choose between scenarios more focused on economics or military and you dont get locked in. You can swap at any time. Once youve completed a scenario you can choose between to two (economic and military) again for the next one.

Older Game That's Really Come Into It's Own...Addicting!

A Christy, Amazon
17 October 2012
  • Summary: Like many others out there, I continue to bemoan the loss of the classic PC world building game within the new game releases of recent years. The heyday of such games included titles like Pharoah and the Cleopatra follow on, Caesar I, II and III and a host of other lesser known but fun works like Poseidan.

Enjoyed!

Robert Wilson, Amazon
11 September 2009
  • Summary: I had been playing my old Caesar 3 when I decided to look to see if they had came out with a new one. Works with Vista , minor issues, had to copy 1st disk onto my hard drive. Its been fun to have new scenarios and challenges. Glad I purchased , found a good deal on amazon for this.

Caesar IV

O. Williams "Retiree", Amazon
13 March 2009
  • Summary: I love this game, I recently had to purchase a new copy because I lost my original due to a move. I play it for hours each day, I am retired and have time to play. I played Caesar III for years and purchased C-IV upon it's release, and was more than pleased with the visual and technical improvements of the game. It makes you work to succeed, and go on to the next game.

Beautiful game, but you may have to upgrade your machine

E. Schechter, Amazon
1 March 2007
  • Summary: For me, there's nothing wrong with the game; it installed without a problem; the graphics are glorious and the play is fascinating. Unfortunately, they did set the system requirements on the box lower than they should have. You need a better machine than they say you do to use all the features. I can get by with a solid playable version by turning off a couple of things, but the game is really, really good.
