So you want to run a Roman city...

Michael Valdivielso, Amazon
12 October 2000
  • Summary: For those of you looking for a great, realistic and HARD game here it is. You are selected by Rome to run a series of cities, each one with problems and needs different than the last. You will have to develop farms, dig clay pits, fill warehouses, design road systems, supply people with food and goods, build houses, set up markets, workhouses and make sure everybody has clean water.

Good, but Two Big Problems

Paul McGrath, Amazon
12 October 2000
  • Summary: I played this game for a couple of months earlier this year, and enjoyed it very much. It was very exciting when you got to the point where you were generating money, pleasing Caesar, and increasing the population. There are two big problems, though. The first is that the instruction booklet, which comes with the game, is not complete. In order to get to the nitty gritty, which should come with the game, you must buy the companion "strategy" guide. This is bull.

Good Game

Guylaine Gauthier, Amazon
16 January 2014
  • Summary: The product arrived quickly from UK, which is amazing considering I am in Canada and it was just before the Holidays, I expected a wait of 2 weeks at the very least. It was delivered to my door in less than a week. I wish this game was as developed as Pharaoh. But still a good game making you learn many things about the establishment of an ancient Roman city.

  • Summary: If you've played Pharaoh then you may be disappointed with Caesar 3. If you've never played that game engine before then Caesar 3 is a great one to start with!

Hail Caesar....III

Fix3r, Ciao
22 March 2011
  • Excerpt: Caesar III is a historic city-building game set in the Roman Empire. The game is produced by Sierra a Entertainment on September 30, 1998. Similar games are Pharaoh, Cleopatra, Zeus: Master of Olympus and Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom produced by the company with the same name. Caesar III is fairly old but still enjoyable for the people who have the patience of dealing with its complex nature and outdated graphics, the graphics being good for its time .
  • Pros: Expanding and managing a great city is really fun
  • Cons: Dfficult to understand

Great Caesar's Ghost...

dynamicnu..., Ciao

  • Excerpt: I would just like to write a review on Caesar 3, which is another of those great simulation games that were produced for the PC. Being sold through the bargain priced lines these days, it can be found in most shops that still sell PC games (or online at places such as Amazon and Ebay also).

Fun game

Amazon
25 March 2003
  • Summary: This could be a great game, and it IS a lot of fun, but as an avid Pharoah gamer, it was hard to negotiate the water supply, which uses a series of aquaducts. Other than that, its fun, historical, and a good lesson in economics.
