you don't need to be a fan of BSG

Brandon, Starlit Citadel
29 April 2014
  • Summary: You don't need to ve a fan of BSG to be able to appreciate this game. Its just a great sci-fi game with interesting characters that is relatively simple to teach and learn. There are a lot of things happening in the game, and its very enjoyable. Definitely for those who are familiar with the BSG universe, they will get much more out of the game, however its still just pure fun. Be warned though, the game can last for quite a while.

Hands Down, Best Boardgame that I've Played

Daniel, Starlit Citadel
29 September 2012
  • Summary: BSG, I can play this forever, and the reason is because every time I play it its different, whether it be the situation, your character, or the players, every time i play it, it's like for the first time. (Also, you don't need to watch the show, in fact maybe you'll want to watch it after playing this) It's 3-6 players and your job as humans is to reach kobol 8-distance. distance can be obtained by moving the jump preparation by crisis'. The rulebook will explain more.

Best semi-coop out there

David, Starlit Citadel
15 August 2012
  • Summary: It's misleading to say that this is a game based on a TV series. Playing BSG is like recreating the series at home. It's as good as its source material. Best of all, players needn't have watched the series to get into the game. The Resistance is a streamlined version of BSG, but beyond that, it's hard to compare them. BSG is a narrative experience like no other. Long it may be, but it's fun throughout.

. If you’re a fan of the show or like games with hidden traitor mechanics, Battlestar Galactica should be on your game shelf.

  • Summary: Battlestar Galactica is a 3-6 player semi-cooperative game based on the re-imagined series. Players take on the role of one of the major characters on the Galactica trying to survive after the Cylon’s attack on the Twelve Colonies. Throughout the game, players must manage of finite resources while trying to identify and mitigate the threat of any Cylons among the humans. A game of Battlestar Galactica takes about 3 hours.

Exodus adds a lot to game play, without adding extensively to the play time or being overly complicated. In particular, the Cylon Fleet option involves much more planning on the part of the humans and a greater need to actually attack the cylons, which he

  • Summary: I love the original Battlestar Galactica board game and found the Exodus expansion to be a welcome addition. There are 3 options in the Exodus expansion that can be added individually or together to the base game: Ionian Nebula, Conflicted Loyalties, and Cylon Fleet. The Cylon Fleet option is my favorite. Instead of the cylon ships being removed from the main board when a jump is made, they move to a new Cylon Fleet game board.

A fantastic science fiction-themed game

Kirk Andersen, Funagain Games
5 April 2011
  • Summary: I didn't think I would like a game based on a TV series (or movie for that matter) but this game was literally fantastic! Everyone gets a character and plays it throughout the game and basically you are running around the Battlestar trying to fend off the cylon attacks. There are a myriad of other things to do in this game also. One player (or two) is a cylon and you do not know who it is usually throughout the game.

Causal Gamers Beware!

Fong Chun, Starlit Citadel
2 January 2011
  • Summary: First off, I am huge fan of BSG having watched all four seasons, The Plan, and Razor. So when I heard that there was a BSG boardgame, naturally I was excited to get my hands on it. BSG the boardgame is not your typical boardgame in any sense. The first hint of that is the instruction manual is an incredibly lengthy 32 pages long.

Fun Game

Steve Klasen, Funagain Games
9 May 2010
  • Summary: Love the cooperative aspect, yet the battle of the two sides. and the receipt of new loyalty cards half way through makes for interesting strategy in the first half. Think you are on the human side? It all could change midway and you may not be happy you worked so hard for humans! The first game took a bit of time getting used to the extensive rules. Would recommend a second and third playing soon there after, but once you get the hang of it, fun WILL ensue.

Good but not always perfect

Mike, Starlit Citadel
27 January 2010
  • Summary: As it seems I have not always had the best relationships with the game I felt it necessary to put up a review on the alternate reality this game can present. Lets get this out of the way though, this is an excellent setting and as a Sci-fi game playing type, this game definitely gives you the feeling of being in your BSG character's boots.
