Summary: Arkham Asylum was a groundbreaking game for me. I loved the atmosphere, the varied and highly imaginative gameplay, the problem solving, and the superbly animated and free-flowing combat. It was engrossing, compelling, and had a far better storyline than most games. ARKHAM CITY promised more of the same and I looked forward to it immensely. Well it delivered in some respects but disappointed in many.
Summary: The PC version didn't run very long without crashing. It's the same hardware I played Arkham Assylum on and it played fine. AC didn't like my quad-core CPU. I upgraded my graphics card and it still crashed. I bought the Xbox 360 version and played that to the end with no major problems. If you can get it to work and not crash, then the rest of the review is about the actual game. I'd give the Xbox version 4.5 stars, if I could.
Summary: This game might be great, but it wouldn't work on either of my laptops. It is suppose to work on Windows 7 (or be compatible) but it would not work. So I can't give it a high rating. It is useless to me. I think I will try and sell it.
Summary: Would love to see the Games for Windows take off and lead the pack. I hope we see them step up soon.
Pros: Had a gift card and took a shot...
Cons: I knew the game only Win 7 but I had heard of some fixes. Nothing worked out for me. Windows Games for Windows shortcomings are really disappointing. I has a gift card and tossed it at this game. I really wanted to play the game. Looks fantastic.
Summary: The game looked great, and I was excited to play it, but when attempting to activate it, the code had already been used. The game was listed as NEW, but obviously not. Amazon took it back, no questions asked. I like that about them, they realize that "stuff" happens, and are interested in making sure that the customer is happy. I will likely purchase this again down the line, and hopefully get one that is clean.
Summary: the game is great played through it a bunch of times ON PS3 on steam the game plays good as well but windows live is something else entirely i cannot get it to work and that means NO SAVING but if i wasn't factoring in windows live i would give it 6/5 stars because i feel this is one of the best games i have ever played.
Summary: I bought it for $10, but I'm wondering why now. It takes forever to install off of the CD, you have to go through headache with the windows live setup, and then you have to play with the disc in the system which slows everything down. I hate to say it, but I can understand why people pirate games now. You pay money for a bigger headache and hassle. These companies need to start trusting their customers, or else start losing them.
Summary: I think the graphics are great but I still think the reviews are overrated. If you enjoy scripted games then maybe you will love it. I like multiplayer games where real people dictate how the game will go and make it much more enjoyable. Another thing is you have to figure out what the developer wants you to do before you can move on in the game, thats the only reason the game will take you a while to play because you have to figure everything out.
Cons: I am running a beast of a system and can't get past stuttering on high settings. I would not buy this game until they get it sorted on a patch. System specs are: Rosewill 1300W Lightning PSU Asrock Extreme9 3930k intel proc 32 gigs Ripjaws 1600 ram 2 - Nvidia GTX 580s in SLI 2 - OCZ vertex 3 120 gig max-iops SSDs 2 - OCZ vertex 3 240 gig max-iops SSDs W/ various media storage SSDs And all my games are located on the SSDs of course.
