Good Set Of Classic Role Playing Games...
C. Weaver, Amazon
2 August 2014
Summary: If you are a fan of classic role playing games this set is for you. It contains Balder's Gate, Balder's Gate: Sword Of the Coast; Balder's Gate: Shadow Of Amn; and Balder's Gate: Throne Of Bhaal. A good set of Balder's Gate games in one collection at a very reasonable price. Although these games are not listed as being playable on Win 7, I was able to install each game without any problem.
Summary: I loaded both of these games on my machine and they wouldn't work. I erased them and just loaded on Baulders Gate and played it a few times. When I finally loaded up BG 2 It quit on me again. I am in the process of erasing them and loading just BG 2 by itself. This game runs very slow compared to todays games or even those of just a few years ago. I guess for it's day it was new and exciting though I'd expected more out of it than what it had.
Summary: Baldurs Gate is one of the all time greats for d&d gamers. BG fallows the d&d rules closely, i just wish they would come out with more of these. The idea of multi player with a single person control and real time action. Great game and gaming system of all time.
Summary: I can't get Baldur's Gate to setup on Windows 7. BG2 set up fine and the expansion as well. I'm not a big fan of the Real Time Strategy games. My reaction time is somewhat slow so it's easy to die. But this is pretty good. One thing I don't like about this game is that I only get to create one of my party and the other characters are premade NPCs, unlike in Icewind Dale where I created all six of the party members.
Summary: Purchased with slim hopes of actually running on my windows 7 system, but for the price what would I lose? The games installed and worked perfectly - I forgot how fun this game was and will spend many unproductive hours enjoying this game. I Would Recommend this game to anyone..
Summary: I will praise the Baldur's Gate series as both a classic and (for its time) a revolution in solid video game roleplaying. This is my second purchase of the game, but the first purchase of this boxed set. The first purchase -- my original -- still works and installs like a charm. That said, the issues I have with this box-set are less with the game and more with the way Interplay has made the game oh, so much more difficult to access and install than need be.
