Solid game hurt by Ubisoft's chronic lack of proper support for their PC ports.
7 July 2014
Summary: The game is fun standard AC gameplay with sea battles added in, though the ship combat gets a little stale quicker than I would have hoped. Unfortunately Ubisoft refuses to properly port and support their games on the PC. Between the bugs in the game and the bugs with UPlay, trying to play this game ended up being an exercise in frustration.
Summary: I am a huge AC fan. This is by far the worst one in the serise. They try to do so much but the main character is about as flat as they get. I wish I would have waited until the steam sales. Then I wouldn't feel so jaded by a game I had such high hopes for. It's not that bad when a 10 dollar game is eh instead of a 59.99 dollar game.
Summary: I have Uplay version of basegame, but this DLC ONLY works with the Steam version of the basegame. Yes, product page says that it needs Steam activated basegame, but it does not say anywhere the Uplay activated basegame is a no go, since any user would just expect this to be a standard warning for all Steam games sold here on Amazon. Oh and item is not refundable.
Summary: While the story can be entertaining, as is following it through the main missions, this may be one of the least rewarding "Assassin's Creed" experiences overall. Once you step outside the main storyline (and a couple of times while still inside), you'll run into some of the most forgettable experiences in the whole franchise. Seriously, Ubisoft: fast travel is a step in the right direction, but all of the horse riding in AC3 STILL managed to bore me into tears.
