Asheron's Call

Game Vortex
4 September 2003
  • Excerpt: Have you ever sat on the beach and watched a sun rise - how about standing on top of a mountain while the sun sets? When's the last time you ran through the rain, chased by a nine-foot monster? Asheron's Call ! The environment graphics are extraordinary. From dusk till dawn; rain, overcast, sun shiny day; beaches, deserts, mountains, plains; its just beautiful.

  • Excerpt: I should preface this article by stating that my experience with role playing games is fairly limited. It's not for lack of trying ... I bought Sir Tech's Wizardry: Nemesis and Interplay's Fallout. But I could never figure out how to get started. You get a snippet of introductory story and then wham! There you are in the middle of some god-forsaken landscape and ... what? Fight monsters? Run an errand? Save the world?

  • Excerpt: I think I finally found a clean role playing game! It\'s fun, challenging and worth the $10 a month. You, along with thousands are called to the land of Dereth. The scenery is beautiful and the monsters are unique, it\'s not your typical orc\'s and goblins.

Gamers will answer Asheron's Call

GIN
5 January 2000
  • Excerpt: The beauty of Asheron's Call is difficult to describe. Having been a devoted fan of the reigning champion of online-only games, Origin System's Ultima Online, for years, I was used to a somewhat lower standard. Play Asheron's Call just once or twice and you will never want to go back to Ultima.

Asheron's Call Review

GameSpot
15 December 1999
  • Excerpt: At a glance, Turbine's massively multiplayer online RPG Asheron's Call may not seem very attractive; its uninspired presentation, esoteric setting, clumsy combat system, and cluttered interface do little to recommend it over its competitors. Yet despite these weaknesses, Asheron's Call has a number of even greater strengths, and it's these strengths that let it stand both on even footing with and apart from any of its contemporaries.

Asheron's Call

JeuxVideo.fr
