Armed and Dangerous (PC)

ccgr.org
11 September 2005
  • Excerpt: You are a member of the Lionhearts, a misfit band of outlaws attempting to steal the Book of Rule before the evil king Forge opens it. If he does get his grips on the book, the land of Milola will be transformed into a twisted amusement park. The game starts out with you (Roman), Jonesy the mole, and Q the robot searching for a smelly old blind man named Rexus who placed a basket weaving spell on the book to ward off those who come in contact with it.

Armed and Dangerous

Gameguru Mania

  • Excerpt: Armed and Dangerous is a 3rd-person action shooter developed by Planet Moon Studios, the company that brought us Giants: Citizen Kabuto . The lands of Midden have been conquered by the evil King Forge, who has ruled over them with an iron fist for many years. A small band of Robin Hood-esque thieves, called the Lionhearts, who have an axe to grind against the King, decide to pull one last ultimate heist.

Armed and Dangerous

Game Vortex
11 August 2005
  • Excerpt: Armed and Dangerous uses a third person perspective to carry you around its stylish 3 dimensional world. The graphics would be particularly normal if it wasnt for the fact that the style of everything is something very otherworldly. The landscapes hark to locales on Earth, but the things that inhabit them are definitely alien. Along with pretty sharp looks and decent explosions, this visual package isnt all that bad. The sound is as equally diverse as the look.

  • Excerpt: If you’re really looking for a strange experience, something just a little bit north of bizarre, try playing Planet Moon’s Armed and Dangerous like I did, cooked to the gills on flu medication. There I am, so doped up that tiny cartoon boozle bubbles are almost literally popping around my head, playing Roman, the leader of the Lionhearts, trying to recover the Book of Rule from the evil King Forge and his retarded son. Just who are the Lionhearts?

Armed for Danger

GIN
23 February 2004
  • Excerpt: I first encountered Armed and Dangerous at the LusasArts booth at E3, and found the demo to be one of the highlights of my day. A couple things that I found noteworthy at the time were a funny looking device in the game that you could use to reverse gravity for a short time, thus making all the baddies nearby fly (or really fall) up into the air, and then come crashing back down. And the one cut scene they showed us was hilarious.

Armed and Dangerous

  • Excerpt: Armed and Dangerous might look like a typical third-person perspective shoot-em-up, but it comes loaded with such an outrageously weird cast of characters, bizarre weapons, British-y japes and wonderfully scripted cutscenes that the whole ends up being greater than the sum of its parts.

Armed and Dangerous

GamersHell.com
2 January 2004
  • Excerpt: Planet Moon Studios is probably not one of the most famous game developers around. Their first published title Giants: Citizen Kabuto was one of those games with lots of original content, but that didn't seem to have been noticed by many. Armed and Dangerous features the same action packed gameplay as Giants, only this time it’s more polished, and has a nice finishing touch.

GameSpot

  • Summary: Armed and Dangerous is the latest game from Planet Moon Studios, the company behind the goofy, imaginative, and well-received PC and PS2 shooter, Giants: Citizen Kabuto. Humor in games can be a pretty hit-and-miss affair, and while not every single joke in Giants was laugh-out-loud funny, it still managed to be a funny game without feeling fake or forced.

Armed & Dangerous

ActionTrip
23 October 2003
  • Conclusion: Armed & Dangerous seems to possess all the essential qualities of a fine 3rd person shooter. Players will get to accompany Roman and his gang in an adventure filled with inadvertent heroism, non-stop action, and dirty jokes. The game is set to be genuinely funny, and that is a true rarity these days. Hell, just look at the intro movie we've got lined up for you!
