Summary: Had read many positive reviews, but I found this game cludgy, the user interface is counter intuitive if you have played all the best exemplars of the genre like COD series, Battlefield series, Medal of Honor, R6, Ghost Recon, etc. The graphics are a joke, the AI is out of balance and the player movement is clunky and inelegant. Other than that, it's a little buggy and was not a lot of fun for me. I tried to play, but just ended up frustrated.
Summary: I am no newcomer to PC shooters, or PC software. I have been in IT for two decades and can make my way around a PC and its software. But this game is a crippled mess of different versions, patches and mods - with even a Steam client thrown into the mix. I bought the Combined Operations package at a local store, which came with Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead.
Summary: While I am sure it is a great product neither of the ones we bought work on our computers. The purchase was easy and smooth and shipping was quick. The seeler was not at fault we are sure it is the product.
Summary: There was a problem loading/executing the game. Discussion with company/developer went "no where." I am very unhappy when an inquiry ends with (essentially) you have the problem on your end. This was the reason for returning the product.
Summary: Do you enjoy seeing games you spend $50 on crash to a blue screen of death over and over? Then buy this game! That's right folks, step right up and fork over $50 for a game that takes 35 minutes to install and includes a whole 10 minutes of game play before crashing to the blue screen of death!
Summary: Ok, here's the deal with Bohemia Interactive. They are shortsighted. They are lazy. They expect you to be the beta testers of their product whilst you pay them to do such work. They did not prepare their game for Windows 7 knowing full and well it was coming. The game still uses Directx 9 even though we're already onto 11. They want you to fumble through all the instability and troubleshoot the game to try to find its problems so you can report to them.
Summary: Where should I start? The game itself is fantastic. A lot of fun and quite complex so if you're into simulators, this will probably be right up your alley. Unfortunately, there are so many bugs that it's almost unplayable. I have a Quad Core clocked at 3.2GHz, 8GB of RAM, and a ATI 4890 graphics card and I still can't play this game on full settings. In fact, I can't even play it on high settings.
