Summary: Arma 2 is a game that requires much skill to play, though you can still have a very enjoyable experience. The campaign feels as if you were really on a military mission. Usually the mission take up too about an hour and thirty minutes to two hours. If you do not feel like spending that amount of time on a mission, you can create your own battle. I do have a few faults with the game though.
Summary: I really wanted to like this game; I really would like to play a good realistic military simulator. Unfortunately, confusing controls, bad AI and a lack of tutorials kept me from doing anything that I would consider engaged enough to count as "playing." Maybe I'm too mainstream for this game, but I just don't see why you need a specific button assigned to hopping over a fence. I couldn't get the AI to do anything resembling normal behavior. Very buggy.
Summary: Bought it for dayZ, love it for dayZ, the DayZ mod gets a 10/10 for me. Otherwise it's just too control complex to be fun, especially (plane) flight. The beauty of a PC game vs a console game (among a long list of things) is that controls don't have to be limited to four - 8 buttons. But seriously.... you dont need to use all 116 keys and every part of the mouse for EACH control scheme (infantry, land vehicle, helicopter, multiple types of aircraft etc.
Summary: This game is amazing. I thought I should review it considering the countless days I have spent enjoying Dayz. Revolutionary gameplay even in alpha state. This will spur an entirely new direction for game design in what you could even call a new genre.
Summary: The concept of the game is fantastic. If not for the horrible optimization in the engine and the terrible net code it would by all accounts be a brilliant game. As it is, the poor performance and terrible online performance make this shooter virtually unplayable. This is a game that I wanted to love but the actual game play is just frustrating with the bugs and poor performance on medium to high end machines built for gaming. The A.I.
Summary: Arma II as a whole offers a unique experience of sandbox gameplay and a military shooter/simulation. It has it's flaws, being generally a very buggy and clunky game, but aside from that I believe the game is very underrated. It is a very modifiable game, with most of the big mods working fairly well in multiplayer, which in my opinion is the only way to play the game, even if it's just with one other person playing Warfare with the ACE mod installed.
Summary: This is a great addition to any ARMA fans collection. New units, vehicles and terrain are very detailed and authentic. The campaign is a bit short but it's supplemented with almost ten new single player missions. Voice acting and overall polish have also improved a lot over previous Bohemia's games. The best part is if you buy this addon you can still play with those who don't have it. They just see the new content in low resolution version.
Summary: Whilst Operation Arrowhead may technically be an expansion for Arma 2, it can run as a standalone game and has enough contents to make doing so worthwhile, if you were to wish to do so. It does take quite a bit of getting used to, even if you don't play CoD or similar games, because there is quite a steep learning curve, but persistence is worthwhile as this game really is one of the most immersive on the market.
