Like history, but too old to learn new tricks

Boy from Brooklyn, Amazon
20 July 2014
  • Summary: Like history, but too old to learn new tricks, never even played it. But as a veteran of boardgames as a youngster, these historical games can give you a greater understanding of history rather than just by reading as it gives experience as one one have acting in role as in a play rather than by just reading it form a page.

Unreadable disk

Cuervo, Amazon
28 March 2014
  • Summary: Idk why this game is not working properly and it sucks to buy something that does not work, I recommend you avoid not purchasing this game since it will fail at even being able to install and play in the first place, I was very disappointed.

Decent game

Tristan, Amazon
12 June 2013
  • Summary: It's certainly a novelty game. It doesn't provide enough easy instruction however, and the user interface of the game is very complex. It takes a while to figure out how to even create new units. When you figure out how to create units, it's a trial and error process to figure out how to link units together. It could have been much better if they deployed as units instead of as individual soldiers. Very fun and provides a dark view of the last war of northern aggression.

  • Summary: Not a good game to try and coordinate with 3D tabletop miniatures. Will just have to keep on looking I guess!

  • Summary: This game will make you feel like a general. It will also teach you some history and about war. Historical detail and fantastic graphics create the feel of combat. I enjoy playing it!

Wasn't the Civil War game I was hoping it would be.

Stephen Schultz "S. S.", Amazon
12 October 2010
  • Summary: I've had this game for a couple years now. I've always been interested in historical events, particularly wars and I have always wanted there to be a great game made about one of these events. In this case, the Civil War. But I'm afraid I'm still searching, as AC: Divided Nation clearly does not fit the bill for me. I bought it online thinking it would be sort of like Command and Conquer or Age of Empires, which if it was like either it would totally kick butt!

An Ambitious Undertaking Is a Mixed Bag

Michael Taylor "Michael Taylor", Amazon
19 June 2007
  • Summary: Since Sid Meiers has not released any Civil War games lately, I had high hopes of a very enjoyable real time Civil War real time strategy game when I purchased AC:DN. To be honest, the game is a mixed bag and here are my comments: Good: 1. Different wars covered - War of 1812, Mexican-American War, Civil War. 2. Graphics seem to be pretty good. 3. Ample number of scenarios and campaigns to play. 4. Great if you like controlling thousands of figures. 5.
