A very good game for Civil War buffs.

Richard Brauhn, Amazon
26 February 2014
  • Summary: This games is certainly challenging and involves some real strategy. It has nice graphics and good extra features. I would think that most people would enjoy the game. I would highly recommend it to any Civil War game buff or those who like military strategy games that are played out in real time with real historic scenarios.

Perfect for our young son

L. Rollins "bwbelle", Amazon
25 January 2014
  • Summary: I realize that this is an older PC game, and therefore does not have cutting-edge graphics or realistic game-play. However, for our young Civil War fan, it is the perfect game for him. He appreciates the historical facts and the strategy required to play. The seller accidentally sent the wrong game the first time, but immediately responded to my inquiry with excellent customer service and shipped the correct product promptly.

Gettysburg

Herb Diehr, Amazon
30 August 2013
  • Summary: Follows the battle very closely, as well as the '70's game it is based upon, 'Terrible Swift Sword'. This was made extensively by the original game's author, Richard Berb. If you like big, long games with great attention to detail and historical accuracy, this is for you.

Best graphics in a Civil War strategy game!

Alessandro, Amazon
27 January 2013
  • Summary: American Civil War: Gettysburg is much more fun than reviewers typically give it. Compared to other video games, Gettysburg is so far the most realistic in terms of graphics and game play. You can hear the bullets whiz by when you zoom into the battlefield, guns crackling, and men screaming as they are shot or in a fight hand to hand. Morale is negatively affected by casualties taken and positive by making more of the enemy rout (among other things).

Best War Game Around

Rory Lion, Amazon
10 October 2009
  • Summary: I can't believe the low ratings given to this game. Sure there are a few bugs and how I wish the designer would fix them and issue a Version 2, but the Version 1 is a killer game in itself that will help the student of Civil War military get an excellent understanding of what factors the CW generals had to consider as they maneuvered their armies into battle.
