American Civil War: Gettysburg
14 October 2005
Excerpt: American Civil War: Gettysburg is the latest game from the expert tacticians at TalonSoft (of Battleground fame ), Take 2 Interactive, and Global Star Software - all for a budget price of $20. Unlike most strategy games of this kind, it is beautifully displayed in vibrant 3D. From extremely detailed troops with historically appropriate insignia/equipment, to the actually modeled battlefields of Gettysburg, it’s simply great looking.
Excerpt: TalonSoft is no stranger when it comes to American civil war titles. They crafted a series of games under the Battlegrounds title but none in that series boasted 3D graphics. American Civil War: Gettysburg (ACWG), which takes one of the momentous battles of the civil war period, offers a 3D take on the material without sacrificing the strategy. Of course, 3D strategy titles are a dime a dozen these days. At its core, though, ACWG is still a wargame.
