Summary: The games that gave birth to a genre. All of them good Alone in the Dark 1: The beginning of it all. Time has not been kind as the animation is almost comedic today. But I remember at the time when this was new, this game was scary as hell! Puzzles were hard, yet not impossible to figure out.
Summary: I really wanted to like Alone in the Dark. I didn't honestly think that Eden Games would elevate the game to the front of the pack, but there was enough little things and innovations that I thought maybe it'd be a good game. When I played it, I was amazed.

Excerpt: The Great Escape is a game developed by Pivotal Games for the PC in 2003 based on the 1963 movie of the same name. The film is about a group of Allied prisoners of war who attempt to escape a German POW camp in World War 2.
Pros: Entertaining, good graphics and gameplay
Cons: Not outstanding, not very faithful to the film

Excerpt: Alone in the dark has glimpses of brilliance which are sadly let down by the horrible controls. I highly recommend using a controller to play this game as it is defiantly suited to that scheme and will boost your enjoyment of this game.
you must have a powerful pc to enjoy it like i did :)

Summary: I had mixed expectations when I came to Alone in the Dark. As one of the few games based around HP Lovecraft's mythos, I was quite keen, but on the flip side, it's had such poor reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect.
