Excerpt: It\'s been a while since I played the original. I remember it being fun so I looked forward to this demo. In the demo at or you are limited to the Marine, but in the game you can be the alien, predator, or the marine. Each have their own special abilities. For example the Marine can hack computers and use a wide variety of guns and launchers. The predator can turn invisible. Etc. Anyways you are given missions, but the whole point is to kill or be killed.
Excerpt: One of the important parts of a game like Aliens vs. Predator 2 is the ambiance of the game. It's not enough to be pretty; in an established setting like this, you have to match the 'canon material' as closely as possible, giving the same senses that the source provided. Aliens vs. Predator 2 manages this with aplomb, providing a graphical and aureal environment that truly immerse you into the experience.
Excerpt: Aliens Versus Predator 2 (AvP2) is a 3D action sci-fi shooter, sequel to the popular 1999 action game Aliens Versus Predator, which was inspired by the Aliens and Predator movies. Similarly to the original game, you can play through three separate scenarios - one as a Colonial Marine, another as a Predator, and also as an acid-imbued Alien. In all the game includes three different single-player campaigns, each with seven missions.
Conclusion: The game remains a chilling experience and designers Monolith have created an experience that remains true to the finest moments of the movie. Reviewing this game for a hearing gamer would have earned the game 9/10 but it does have some problems for the deaf gamer and as such the mark must reflect this.
Excerpt: LV-1201. A nondescript name for an otherwise nondescript and desolate stormy planet. Appearances can be deceiving, though, as the innocuous LV-1201 lies at a crossroads, a meeting place for three races on a collision course of conflict. For the Aliens, LV-1201 has been a breeding ground for thousands upon thousands of years. Now the ever expanding human race has come to the planet and it must be defended against the invaders at all costs.
Summary: Aliens vs. Predator 2 builds upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, and ends up being one of the better first "person" shooters around. Varied gameplay stems from the inclusion of three distinctly different species, and this keeps the game fresh: if you get tired of being a Predator, just switch over to another campaign. The graphics and sound are first-rate, and the multiplayer has some innovative modes of play. Aliens vs.
Summary: If you can't wait until this summer's
release of Aliens Vs. Predator on the big screen, fret not! Sierra and Fox
Interactive have re-released the action filled shooter Aliens Vs. Predator 2 for
the PC gaming platform. The Gold Edition of the now classic game comes with the
latest update patch, new levels, and even a free expansion pack.
Excerpt: A stealthy hunter, a lethal alien or a helpless human…In the universe of Alien versus Predator 2, the choice is made yours. Do you want to play the part of the mouse, running, hiding, peeking from a tiny whole to the unforeseen danger, or should you want to exchange turns? Do you want to be the hunter, the deadly shadow that plants fear into his enemies’ hearts, the dreadful killing machine hidden between trees, waiting to claim the life of yet another foolish victim?
Conclusion: The Wrap-up: In the end, Aliens Vs. Predator 2 is exciting, yet scary game. From the beginning to the very end, the action is nonstop, and will never get boring. With the sounds blending together so well with the levels, and graphics that are always great to look at, AvP 2 is a good first person shooter that all can enjoy. Hopefully after a few more patches and some multiplayer tweaking, this game will become better than what it already is.
Excerpt: Same story line as the original, Aliens, humans, and predators meet un-expectedly... havoc ensues. Now it worked out fine for AvP, but the story runs rather dry when you are basically doing the same things over again. I liked the FMV sequences from the first but the movies in the sequel have done a decent job.
