Summary: Man it hurts to write this review. For over 6 years I have been waiting for this game and I had high hopes. Even with my high hopes I was concerned. This is one of the strongest franchises today but as we have seen with the latest of Alien movies (Resurrection, Alien3, AVP) and games, it's one of the easiest to mess up. Sadly folks this has happened again. When I heard that Gearbox was making this game, my hopes rose a bit.
Summary: This wasn't that bad of a game, but it certainly wasn't anywhere near good either. I liked the nostalgia, finding weapons and items of characters from previous Alien films. About half way through the game It felt like the story was just dragging along, but picks up at the middle/end a bit but not enough for me to enjoy it thoroughly.
Summary: Meh - it's alright. It makes an effort to pay homage to the Aliens movie and it's fairly cinematic, trying to give the player what they need to be fully engrossed. But I thought there were too many pandering tropes. The game play, I think, is really so-so and could have been improved. It has all the signs of a rushed/under-resourced production. Perhaps it will improved with future patches. This is, however, a MUST-purchase for hardcore Aliens fans.
Summary: Was acm worth $60 when it first came out? no...Sega/gearbox have no morals. Was this game worth $2.00 when it was on sale...yes because its the same price as a mobile game and the graphics sure looks like one.
Summary: While this game has a million flaws and annoyances, it still has a large attention to detail and brings back some of the awesome nostalgia of the alien series. The AI is brain dead and the game is as linear and scripted as hell.
Summary: I'd recommend it if it's extremely cheap and you could find some friends to coop a meh game. There are nods to the original franchise but overall wasted potential sums up the game. There are still animation issues and ai issues. Weapons don't really feel too responsive and there is no horror element to the game at all. Multiplayer is also dead so the only things you can do is single player or coop if you could find someone.
Summary: I have been hearing horrible reviews about this one and I just finished it, I think I got about 15 hrs play out of it, the one thing I really hated was the poor controls to change weapons , I was stuck with just 2 weapons and a useless handgun for more than 75% of the game until I figured out how to switch the weapons , I have never played a game where you use letter "B" to switch guns , and since I purchased the download version of the game I didn't have a manual, but I...
Summary: The graphics and the allusions to the movies are great but the Aliens AI could use some serious help (I mean seriously? All you do is melee me?). Random texture pop ins every so often don't help either. Good if you're an aliens fan but if you're not I wouldn't recommend it.
