Conclusion: That being said, the emphasis on grinding, the linear environment and the rather uninspired early levels pose a serious threat to this games growth. Whilst these are things that cannot be changed, it will depend on what NCSoft will do next which will ultimately make or break it.
Fantasy MMO set in war between two races has bloody combat.

Summary: Parents need to know that Aion is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that takes place in the middle of war between two races. Players choose to join one of two factions: one is light-skinned and the other is dark-skinned which may lead some to think of racial stereotyping. The game has player versus player combat where the aim is to kill and defeat other players using weapons and magical attacks.
Conclusion: I'd like to say that there's nothing really special about Aion without sounding overly negative. It's likely the best MMORPG released since Lord of the Rings Online, with many appealing qualities and a decent chance of retaining players. There aren't many games that have put as much effort into persistent world PvP, and that is the deciding factor for some people.
Excerpt: The massively multiplayer online RPG hasn't changed much in the past ten years. Ever since Everquest introduced gamers to a large, 3D world, most that followed have only added their own spin on that idea, polishing and expanding where necessary, but hardly ever innovating. Blizzard's World of Warcraft is a fantastic example of this, and is, for the most part, the pinnacle of that formula, sitting atop a throne that seems unreachable.
Conclusion: Aion doesn’t offer players something that they haven’t already experienced as the game’s only unique feature is that PvPvE begins at level 25. That being said, Aion is not a bad game at all, but its slow level progression and lack of any sort of innovative gameplay features will turn some people off.
Pros: Beautiful visuals; very solid and relatively bug free; unique PvPvE gameplay.
Excerpt: Aion is a new massive multiplayer online RPG for the PC, which was developed by NCsoft's Aion Team Development Dept. In fact, the game was originally called Eternity when it first came out in Korea and China. Aion combines PvE and PvP in a concept the developers call "PvPvE" in a fantasy setting. The story of Aion takes place in the world of Atreia, which was split into two by an ancient cataclysm.
