Summary: This game has incredible graphics. The gameplay is similar to World of Warcraft but doesn't run as well on my laptop. WoW runs completely fine but I have video issues & lag on Aion. I give it 3 stars because I get bored with it around level 18...it's actually MORE repetitive than WoW and much harder to find a group for dungeons. This is more of a PVP game since you're always marked for PVP in most areas..
Summary: ...Is the phrase that comes to mind when someone mentions AION to me. While Aion boasts some impressive graphics and PvP / PvPvE, the celestial battle ahead is not without some heavy flaws. This might make the game hard to swallow for some gamers, but a perfect fit for others. ** Do not be put off by my 2 star rating. Every game is different in the hands of different gamers. While I may of not enjoyed AION, perhaps you might!
Summary: This is going to be short and sweet. I've been playing the game for about a year with a love/hate relationship. The hate comes in when you reach level 30 and above (max lvl 55). Unbridled ganking in certain areas by higher level players, most often in gangs, can bring your leveling almost to a standstill. This activity is openly endorsed by NCsoft. They call it "game content". My conclusion is that the game was developed by a GANG of creative, talented psychopaths.
Summary: I bought this game *new* (and sealed) on Amazon but I have no idea if it is a good game or not because the Activation Code area on the Quick Reference Card is blank. No idea why. If you buy this game I would check that it came with an activation code immediately when you get it.
Summary: Been playing this game for more than a year now. This is the first game that kept me on one game for so long. The graphics are just amazing, and the story line is so much unique. Plus, the flying system and the air stream system in the Assault on Balaurea give so much fun. But, this game is definately for serious gamers rather than for casual players. If you don't have much time to play or don't want to spend much time on a game, this is not the game you'd want.
Summary: Aion is a beautiful game. The character creation screen has so many options it's a mini-game in itself. Flying and gliding across the world you appreciate the ingenuity of the game engine designers and artists who created the detail-rich, well-pixilated world. Then they forgot to put any fun in it. The PvE gameplay is boring-to-tears repetitive, and it took me (a 20 hour a week casual gamer) > 6 months to hit level 50 (the old max level).
Summary: As my title says, prepare, because this game is an ultimate grind fest. Somehow you never truly feel like you've accomplished much because there is just always wayyy too much to do. If you value your social life, pass on Aion.
Summary: We bought this game before it came out, because, unfortunately, we saw no THOROUGH definition of what "PvePvP" really means. I'll tell you what it means. It means you spend your first 22 levels doing your usual PvE questing and enjoying NP combat in a beautiful world with beautiful graphics, then you are forced into an area with NON STOP GANKING. You have no choice. Players much, much higher level than you will kill your poor character every five minutes.
Summary: Don't know about you guys but this game is different compared to WoW and all the other mmos i've played. I'm not focused on simple details and comparisons, but more like that all MMOs are the same in one major way, they are mmos. But lore, gameplay, character creation, and things like that are always different. That's what gives each MMO its own, unique reputation. Aion in itself is one of the best. I still play it since the beta release.
Summary: After all the hype people gave this game I was expecting the revolution of MMORPG games from it. I suppose that my expectations could be considered to high. This game is nothing more than an upgraded version of Lineage 2 meets World of warcraft. You have a WoW style quest system in a Lineage 2 style world and lore. Open world PvP which is not optional as well as a very steep grind.
