Summary: I wasn't a huge fan of this game. While I more or less enjoy hidden object scenes, I believe that they always belong in the midst of a riveting plot, with other significant puzzle activities and point-and-click work to do as well. Unfortunately, "Dead Man's Folly" has none of these. Now, I don't want to enrage any committed Christie fans by insulting the plot of this game.
Summary: This is just an OK game for me. Good graphics & artwork, especially the cottage garden scenes are beautiful. However, some objects that were placed in the 'background distance' tend to be quite small and hard to determine. Items were easy to find and I hardly need to use the hint system. Although the music chosen was ok, I found it very repetitive. Same for repeat visits of some scenes, the items were repeated and located at the same spots!
Summary: I'm a big fan of Agatha Christie's books and the game follows this particular mystery fairly well. The graphics are good although some of the objects you need to find are extremely small. The music is nice and understated. I don't see much replay value in this game since you will find yourself revisiting scenes and looking for some of the same items again. It's a good game but all the while I played I kept thinking "I've played this before". Won't be buying this one.
Summary: Lovely graphics, interesting story, lots of playing time; but it needs an option for an untimed mode and a more generous hint system. If you use the hints correctly (Click on the name of the item after you click for a hint; and you will see the object surrounded by stars.), it can be very helpful; but there are so few hints available (You begin each chapter with 3.) that it becomes rather stressful.
Summary: Yes it is fairly simple, but I didn't find this one boring. It is a reasonable length game. There was only a couple of items I had to use the hint on, but the game was challenging enough for some enjoyment.
Summary: This game was interesting, but a little disappointing for me, as I have played the HOG Agatha Christie's Peril at End House. The game played smooth but some of the items were not visible unless you click the hint. Once the hint showed the object, in a lot of games you realize you simply over looked the object. In this game even when you re-enter the scene, the item that you needed a hint on is not visible even when you know exactly where it is???
