T500 goodness!

patrick m., Newegg
25 December 2014
  • Summary: All in all if you want a serious rig and don't mind spending another hundred or so bucks on a brake mod, you cannot beat the level of simulation for the price. The next step up is Fanatech and before you even get to the pedals you are going to be spending 700 dollars. Both are belt driven so you might not even feel much of a difference between the two. The Fanatech pedals are incredible though...
  • Pros: This is such a solid setup! Everything feels really beefy and well made. The FFB is incredibly strong and the "notchiness" is nominal. Worked great on my desk and works even better on my sim rig that finally came a month ago. Installation is straight forward and simple. There is a real jump in quality over the cheaper alternatives. Another thing to remember is that Thrustmasters will work on ps3 and ps4 on many games so it probably has some of the highest compatibilit...
  • Cons: Not much too say here but there are 2 cons that made me take an egg off perfection but they really aren't a huge deal. First of course as you may already know is the fan... Its loud... Honestly for 500 freakin dollars they need to address this stupid fan but you can't notice it when your driving because you should have the volume cranked when racing!!! Other con is the pedals. They are nice and beefy but just doesn't have the quality you get from the wheel. Also a pot...

Wheel functions normally with only one issue

Original Vidiot, Amazon
28 December 2012
  • Summary: There are a great many negative reviews pertaining to the product. Most have to do with construction issues and quality control problems. That being said, I ordered this expensive alternative to the G25/27 wheel knowing that Amazon would stand by me as a customer if a problem arose. And true to form, there was a quality control problem but not significant enough to make me return the item.

Great Wheel .... Cheap parts .... Terrible Customer Service

The Dude "Wilderness Hiker", Amazon
28 December 2012
  • Summary: Wheel is very realistic (not worth $600.00, get it on sale) some of the parts are not made very well (the springs in the pedals). CUstomer service is terrible what they want you to provide for a replacement part (be prepared to give up your first child). Work out the QUALITY issues and customer service and you would see a satisified customer base. When it works it is the most realistic feeling wheel.

Thrustmaster T500RS

VP, Amazon
17 January 2012
  • Summary: Bought this for myself as a year-end gift though I already owned a Logitech G25 and a Fanatec GT2 Clubsports edition wheel / pedal set. The fit and finish is pretty good and heavy (a fair bit of metal used here) and the wheel feels like a real wheel though the number of turn-to-lock rotation available is a bit of overkill in my opinion though.

Great wheel but expensive for the average person

Jay, Amazon
3 November 2011
  • Summary: Pros: Stronger FFB than any other existing wheel Made with rich quality and no cheap looking parts Firmware is upgradable (meaning bugs can be fixed if any, or features can be added) Pedals work great (Clubsport Pedals are much better though) Great for the drifters due to the fast counter-steering of the wheel much better and accurate feeling for ALL ground surfaces (tarmac, dirt, grass, apex, etc....

T500RS

Lee, Amazon
8 September 2011
  • Summary: This is a great wheel for GT5. First impressions did not really impressed me until I started spending more time with it. It has a similar feel to the Fanatec GT3RS but there is literally no dead zone, one can feel every movement of the wheel. The wheel is able to catch up with one's movement. Force feedback is precise especially on the Nurburgring.

Great wheel but quality control is questionable.

17 July 2011
  • Summary: [SEP 2013] See my latest update at the end of this review. Fantastic wheel and pedal combination ...... how best to describe this product without recycling what has already been said in previous reviews and what is available on Thrustmasters website? .... hmmm, how about when I opened the box it had that "new car smell" ... no bs; that's how realistic this product is ......

Great for 3 hours, now dead; support is slow to resolve

kkalp77 "kalper", Amazon
21 May 2011
  • Summary: I was very excited as I unboxed my T500RS to replace my well worn G27. I attached the wheel and pedals to my Playseat WRC; the wheel fit perfectly, but the mount holes for the pedal set did not line up, had to zip-tie in place. (I have seen rumors on line that Playseat is working on an adapter but 5 months after release it is still yet to be seen...) I started Gran Turismo 5 on my Playstation 3 and got in about 3 hours of play.
