Excerpt: I use this HOTAS setup for FSX, Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, and Arma3. I have had it for over a year and it still looks like new. I also don't worry about my 6 year old using it as I know it won't break. Very solid.
Pros: Advanced Setup Options, Back-lit Throttle, Easy setup, Insane Amount Of Controls, Most Parts Are Metal, Mounting Holes, Solid Build, Target Software
Cons: Heavy If You Use On Lap, Not Great For Small Hands, PRICE
Excerpt: EXCELLANT HOSTAS SETUP , WORKS GREAT on my A-10C Cockpit ! EXCELLANT Quality works flawlessly with other simulators also,Micrososoft X Gold,X-Plane 10 Global and Prepar3D !First rate service arrived in 3 Days ,and People at B&H are the Best !
Pros: There are more than enough axes, hat switches, and buttons to control whatever game or simulator you are playing. The throttle moves smoothly, and the flightstick feels real (maybe too real!!) with the pressure. If you have carpal tunnel syndrome or weak arms, this is NOT for you! The Thrustmaste...
Cons: Stick has heavy resistance to force, so do make sure your arms are strong and your wrists don't have any serious medical issues. It is quite a workout as well as fun.
Pros: Owned many J-sticks over the years MS Sidewinder r.i.p. ...lol anyway this thing destroys everything I've ever touched. Accurate and smooth this thing is a dream. Expensive yes , but you get what you pay for!
Summary: Anyone who see this at my house is always amazed by the quality and finish of the warthog. The satisfying “Click” you get when trowing a toggle is just fantastic. Sold Thrustmaster gear back in the 90's, but this is in no way your fathers peripheral. Can't recommend enough
Pros: Finish Attention to detail crisp buttons Massive amount of buttons
Cons: Price This thing is very heavy, to some this may be a con.
Summary: great overall, but absolutely inexcusable that plastic comprises any of the frequently moving/stressed parts given the price-tag. In fact most of the metal parts are not moving parts at all and are just the casing.
Pros: very high quality construction and feel except for one critical part. I'll get into that in the cons. A lot of it is metal, very weighty, excellent overall, I wish it didn't break.
Cons: After a few months I noticed the stick wasn't staying centered as well as it used to, it got to the point I had to hold it or trim my planes to compensate, not a massive problem but annoying, especially in planes that have no aileron trim (DCS Fw-190). Then today while playing, I rolled hard left...
Summary: Buy right, or buy twice. Worth every penny.
Pros: This HOTAS is flat out amazing. I must have watched a dozen or more HOTAS comparison videos, unboxing videos, and review videos of this combo. Anybody that has spent any amount of time researching these knows that there are 3 or 4 setups that can run between 100 and 200 bucks, and then you go ALL...
Cons: The only con I can really give this setup, is that there are a couple of switches that don't feel like the same qualty, as the swtich right next to it. For example, the toggle switch on the left side of the throttle. It has some play, and doesn't feel solid. Where as the switches on the bottom of...
Cons: Joystick stopped working after light use over the last 4 months. The buttons appear to be pressed down (according to the Target Device Analyzer) and seems to have shorted. Contacting support. For a $500 set, I expected a much longer life span than this.
Summary: This is a great piece of equipment, one that I would not hesitate to recommend. However for the price this retails I would hope it to be flawless.
Pros: Solid construction. Normally I would say that heavy isn't good, but in this case 'Heavy is reliable' and allows for the entire range of motion in the controller without tipping the controller or the controller sliding around. Solid rubber pads are affixed to the bottom, so the metal isn't scrapin...
Cons: Mine came with a single dead led for the EAC switch on the bottom left the 'ARM' text is not lit up. The switch on the left side of the throttle feels a little weak. When the throttles are seperated the left one again doesn't feel very sturdy. Even when locked together there is some side to side ...
Pros: The experience of gripping these things in your hands is mind-blowingly amazing. Both the stick and throttle are both incredibly solid, heavy and smooth. I am not a hardcore simulation player but in the games I've used this setup in like Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen AC 1.0, the Thrustmaster W...
Cons: The price is the only real con I can put here. I've not owned this setup for long enough to speak of its durability and I've yet to even scartch the surface on its dozens of customizable analog switches on both the stick and the throttle unit.
