ZeroTherm Nirvana NV120

swemod.com
27 January 2008
  • Summary: Tonight we take a look at our next CPU cooler, this time it is the ZeroTherm Nirvana NV120 from APACK. A CPU cooler that both works in the large cooler segment but also in the high performance one, if we are to trust the ZeroTherm facts. As we all know, if we want our components to last for at least during the warranty period we need to cool them properly. We can both lower the temperatures, but also lower the noise with third party components.

Zerotherm Nirvana NV120 Premium

techPowerUp!

  • Summary: The Zerotherm Nirvana NV120 Premium is a great heatsink that can be had for as little as $42 after rebate, which is a great price for a solid performer. I just cannot get over how beautiful the finish is on the Nirvana, and that finish wraps the entire heatsink. The blue LEDs in the fan are a nice touch, and the fan controller allows the user to dial in exactly how much noise is acceptable.
  • Pros: $42 USD after rebate is a great price, Great performance, Beautiful mirror plated finish over the entire heatsink, Cool blue LED fan, Four U-shaped heatpipes, Included fan controller, Fan is quiet at low speed
  • Cons: Base imperfections, Proprietary fan, Fan is loud at full speed, May have clearance issues in tight cases under certain configurations

ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120 Premium CPU cooler

XtremeComputing

  • Excerpt: Today I am going to be looking at a product from a company fairly well known for their cooling products as they supply quite a few to graphics card manufacturers and such like as well as standalone cooling solutions for people to upgrade stock coolers. The company is Zerotherm and the product I will be looking at is their top of the range cpu cooler the ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120 Premium. It sounds impressive so I am expecting some decent results.
  • Pros: Good cooling ability., Relatively easy to install for AMD users., Quiet at low speed., Turn the fan up and it cools the chipset well.
  • Cons: Doesn’t cool PWMIC’s sufficiently at low fan speed., Intel users will need to remove the motherboard to fit, as seems the norm with aftermarket cooling.

  • Conclusion: The asking price for this cooler is well deserved, with good cooling combined with mulnaz noise levels. The cooler also can pump a lot of air should you choose to go for the best performance over silence which is always nice. It looks great and also provides some nice blue illumination in your case while cooling your CPU. No mounting issues, even on the jam-packed MSI x38 board with Circu-pipe cooling.
  • Pros: Great looking cooler, Quiet, Easy mounting
  • Cons: Moderate cooling ability, Bulky fan controller

  • Excerpt: Although dual and quad core CPU’s are very good performers; they are not so good in the heat department. As a result, coolers are vastly being designed which aim to cool CPU’s to the lowest possible temps – making them ideal for overclockers and gamers alike.

  • Excerpt: We were recently sent a new heat sink/fan combo from the boffins at QuietPC. They were pretty excited about APACK/ZEROtherms latest product, so we decided to see what the fuss was all about.

  • Summary: Der Nirvana NV120 von ZEROtherm wusste von Anfang an überzeugen.
