Conclusion: Overall, the Zalman ZM-STG1 is not the best thermal paste in the market but having it in the market gives end users options. However, we find that our current favourite thermal paste, the Arctic Silver 5, to be quite effective when directly compared towards the ZM-STG1. Anyways, the ZM-STG1goes for about $10 / RM35 while the Arctic Silver 5 is sold at $6 / RM25.
Pros: Fancy packaging, Comes in bottle with integrated brush
Excerpt: Well, we ended up with no clear winner here. Given the fact that the Zalman offering performed equally as well as one of the industry leaders, it's obviously an outstanding product. The fact that the ZM-STG1 is also almost twice as expensive as its opponent, takes some of the shine off of it.
Summary: The Zalman ZM-STG1 Super Thermal Grease delivers exactly what it promises. Temperatures on an Intel D840 dual core processor were brought down 3 degrees (or just under 8%), by simply ditching the generic white paste for the ZM-STG1. It doesn't get much easier than that.
Cooler components are generally happier components, so this type of temperature drop should be welcome by any computer enthusiast.
Pros: » Works very well, » Easy application, » Includes enough for approximately 10 uses, » Less than $10
