It works

Jesse S., Newegg
28 March 2012
  • Summary: It doesn't control the RPMs of the stock case fans (probably my fault for not doing research) but works great with Skythe wind tunnel fans.
  • Pros: Looks nice with my 800D. Works as advertised.
  • Cons: Doesn't fit flush in the drive bay. I had to bend one of the brackets to get the tool-less latch to catch it. LED lights don't work with y-cable.

  • Summary: you just cant beat there cases i wish they were better at customer service there cases are lifetime caes but not cheap but well worth the money if i had to do it all over again i would have got the gs1000 and not the gs1000 plus the fans are way to slow to do much good i have them removed for better...
  • Pros: nice controller it seems to be very sturdy and it has a great look to it but i should have got the 6 fan controller this unit came with a y cable but just one i wish it had 3 or more also i have a zalman case the GS1000 plus so it looks nice and fits nice.
  • Cons: zalman is notorious for very poor customer service the cases they make are awsome and they work well looks great but but but but it is hard to get someone on the phone and an RMA forget about it but as for the stuff i have bought i have had no problems just be aware of this problem before you buy...

Pricey but solid

Chris D., Newegg
27 January 2011
  • Pros: It's sturdier than many of the other brands that make fan controllers. Seems like a real piece of computer hardware not just some wire thrown together with a price tag on it. Does as advertised, controls all my fans well.
  • Cons: Gets very hot, used an infrared thermal sensor and the voltage regulators behind the knobs were at over 50c immediately after using for the first time so it adds unneccessary heat to case. Also, the led for fan #3 died moments after install, had to take an egg off for that. A bit too expensive fo...

Zalman MFC1=Combo

Wanda L., Newegg
31 December 2010
  • Summary: I definitely think Zalman should sell replacement cables for all of their fan controllers including this one.
  • Pros: Awesome fan controller. Supports 4 DC fan connections via C1, C2, or C3 zalman cables. Supports 1 PWM fan connection via a C4 zalman cable. Nice heatsinks inside the fan controller.
  • Cons: C1 (straight 3 pin extension cables) and C2 (Y 3 pin extension cables) are easy to find as spares here at newegg or elsewhere online. However, Zalman C3 and C4 cables seem to be unobtainable should one fail. Zalman does not report them for sale on their website and newegg does not sell these cabl...

kenneth m., Newegg

  • Summary: i think its a good buy if it was about 15 bucks cheaper. i have alot of heat in my case cuz im runnin a Q6600..a evga 780 mobo..850 watt psu...a evga gtx 260 core 216 SC. if you buy this at least buy some highend fans to go along with it :)
  • Pros: looks good in my coolermaster nvidia edition case. leds are purddyyy! and bright everything seems to be working good to me
  • Cons: well the leds do sorta kinda flash but i think thats cause there cheap led's. also fans dont seem to be as fast as they were hooked up to my zalman 850 hybrid power supply...weird thing is tho its staying just as cool?..hmm odd but thats no con if its staying cool as before

Definitely does the job intended!

Robert M., Newegg
21 February 2009
  • Summary: This unit went into service in its' first build in 2/2005, and it still does the job when Power Supplies and other gear has dispersed smoke and stench. Lights have been annoying me with their (Very Blue) brightness since day one and have not diminished at all I can tell one bit!
  • Pros: Plenty of control options. Documentation easy to comprehend with numerous connection possibilities. x4 knobs x2 toggles x6 bright lights
  • Cons: Give it 4 stars only because the knobs are a bit on the , want to say cheap .. But maybe "delicate" is the better word to use, side!

Nice addition

annette j., Newegg
25 January 2009
  • Summary: I'm ready for summer.
  • Pros: The main reason I bought this is that I have a BFG 8800 Ultra GPU. I removed the stock GPU case and installed a Thermalright HR-03 plus heatsink. Then I installed the Vantec TD9238H 92mm case 119 CFM fan to that heatsink. This fan sounds like a jet and it can move an extreme amount of air. This c...
  • Cons: None really...Too early for me to tell, though I do have to gorilla glue my #4 fan knob which is why the 4 stars.

Not Bad

lonny h., Newegg
15 January 2009
  • Summary: LEDs are BRIGHT, and when they blink in a dark room it feels like your at a dance club or a gun fight is going on. Annoying
  • Pros: Controls all of my fans. It even can control my CPU fan and has wires to hook up to my motherboard so it can let the computer know what my fan is doing.
  • Cons: It doesn't turn off 4 of my 6 fans, it just turns them down. The LEDs blink all the time, faster when the fan speed is up but still noticeable.

Works

Anonymous, Newegg
24 October 2008
  • Summary: I have the case down pretty low, so the lights don't bother me too much.
  • Pros: This product does what I need it to do. Helps me keep the noise down in my home theater PC case.
  • Cons: Same issues as many others: The lights are pretty bright and a few have gone out rather quickly.
