Summary: Love the silence, or at least that it doesn't add to the CPU and PSU fans. The blue fins and matching memory heat sinks look great with the blue LEDs in the case! Caution: fanless coolers rely heavily on airflow, so you don't want to cram this in too close to something else that's blocking the...
Pros: Very easy and straight-forward install. I like the wrap-over design of the heat pipes and it doesn't block the (single) SLI/Crossfire lead. Installed on a nVidia 7950 GT, then crammed into a Thermaltake mATX case. Never had a problem with heat. Would be excellent for a HTPC, but has worked great ...
Cons: The location of the VGA heat sink may cause a conflict with the north-bridge heat sink in the first slot, but it fit just fine on the ASUS M4A785-M. Also, the heat sink blocks the view and easy access of the PCIe locking tab on the mobo.
Summary: Yes, it's a harsh rating considering Newegg has accepted the RMA, except that I live in Canada! And shipping the product back to the USA might end up costing me almost as much as the cooler. Hopefully, Newegg can just ship me the "B" bracket otherwise I might have to skip Zalman products altogether.
Pros: Nicely designed. Don't know if it works though.
Cons: My package is missing the socket "B" bracket. And I need it for my video card.
Summary: Make sure that after installing the GPU heat sink that you dry fit the Big heat sink to make sure everything lines up good... Use Arctic Silver as Directed, not the junk paste stuff it comes with.
Pros: This thing is Sweet! Worked well with my ATI X1650PRO. Droped Temps nicely... 36C on Idle... 45C under Load. You gotta love the no noise factor. Looks Great! It states that you cannot have a PCI card under your video card after this is installed... that is incorrect, I was easily able to install ...
Cons: None really... Directions could have been better for people with lesser knowledge.
Pros: I was a bit skeptical about the weight when I first picked it up. I thought THIS IS SO LIGHT AND CHEAP. I've been dealing with copper for so long that I forgot that aluminum can also get the job done. It keeps my card at 45celsius and the fins aren't even warm. The old stock heatsink (it wasn't a...
Cons: Installation was the worst. Took a long time. The other Zalman products are a piece of cake compared to this.
Pros: Pros would include being fanless, well made product, heat sink mounts behind the card. This was the deciding factor for me. Also, I expected to have to do a little case modding to my nMediaPC 100 case, but, it fit w/out any mods. Granted there's not a lot of room but it fits. Also, came w/memory ...
Zalman VNF100 on HIS Radeon HD 4650 1GB AGP in Dell Dimension 4600
30 August 2010
Summary: Installed with socket B on HIS ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB DDR3 AGP card in Dell Dimension 4600 (Win7 x86 mini-tower, top slot). Clean application, fits on card and fits in PC without interference. Idles silently at 51c... about 6d less than the noisey stock fan and sink.
Summary: I bought it primarily to flip the heatsink of a PowerColor Go! Green AX5450 video card onto the other side as I have a audio power amp card that runs very hot next to it and there's very little space between them. Replacement was a snap and everything worked perfectly.
