Great quite fan

Thomas G., Newegg
3 October 2012
  • Pros: This fan is great, pure solid copper feel, but still light weight. I changed my fan out because the original one was so loud. I used arctic 5 for paste and seamed to work great. After an hour of came play copper fan was still at room temp.
  • Cons: Make sure you check the clearance of the fins to adjacent PCI slots. Otherwise it was hitting the PCI slot and not fitting into the slot needed.

An engineering marvel

Kurt S., Newegg
21 January 2012
  • Pros: This product boasts a remarkable design, in terms of thermal management and acoustics (silent mode really is silent). Even turned all the way up, noise is imperceptible inside a case. I did some thermal performance testing with a 20w element, and this fan (on quiet mode) boasts a delta T of 2 kelvins, yielding a thermal resistance of just under .1 K/w. "Budget" VGA coolers I have tested are typically in the realm of .5 K/w, not as quiet, and not much less expensive. I...
  • Cons: My only complaint is that the LED does not stay at full brightness in silent mode.

Excellent Fan

Mark S., Newegg
8 December 2011
  • Pros: Bought for a GeForce 9600 GSO and fits perfectly. Didn't take much time to install. Just make sure to have a three pin connector on your Motherboard or your video card. I did not and had to buy a seperate fan controller.
  • Cons: None.

Great

Aaron D., Newegg
12 November 2011
  • Pros: Very quiet, even at full speed. Much more effective at cooling than the stock cooler on my 5770. Idle temps are the same, load temps are 10c cooler (was 85c now 75c). Comes with everything you could possibly need and the instructions are very easy to follow.
  • Cons: None.

What a difference

Russell G., Newegg
23 November 2008
  • Pros: This cooler fit my XFX 9800 GT perfectly. .. and what a difference it made! The stock cooler made the card idle at ~70C; under load it was around 80C. After installing this, my idle temp dropped to 40C and after playing COD4 for an hour, the temp was only 46C. Installation was a breeze as well. If you can install the video card yourself, you can install this fan.
  • Cons: It takes up the slot next to the video card. Might be hard for SLI/CrossFire configurations.

Correction to Compatibility

Patrick M., Newegg
17 November 2008
  • Pros: It's a Zalman, you can't go wrong.
  • Cons: Be cautious of the space available for this cooler on your card, some PCI configurations can cause issues, should be fine for the vast majority though.

  • Pros: Dropped temps on my 4850 hd by 40 degrees idle and 30 under full load. Went from 80/90 down to 40/60. Simply amazing and very quiet cooler compared to stock.
  • Cons: none

Great, Quiet ,and Effective Cooling with Style

Robert O., Newegg
23 May 2008
  • Pros: Was pretty easy to install. I used the silver compound instead of the kit that it came with to secure the conductance between the two. Overall I am impressed and have dropped 20C in temperature. When running the 3dMark06 tests the card didn't get any hotter either. This cooler is definitely worth the upgrade. It's not in the list but it works great with my BFG 8800GT OC 512MB with no compatibility issues.
  • Cons: None that I can see so far other than if your motherboard isn't designed to hold a 2-slot graphics card, (I'm using an MSI K9A2) the fan will cover up one of your PCI slots. Not a problem for me since there is a gap between enough to accommodate the small space the fan takes up.

Great Cooling

Robert A., Newegg
7 April 2007
  • Pros: It fixes the Windows Vista issue of not having Ati Tray Tools, so that you can set the GPU fan to run at different speeds at different temps. With this you just use the Fan Mate 2 and you have instant full fan on your Catalyst-overclocked video card, something Catalyst does not support. I'm running an X850 Xt (stock= GPU 520, Vid Mem 540) at 594 and 594 (respectively) and I went from 66 C under load to 56 C under load. The 66 C was with the stock fan at 100% through A...
  • Cons: Memory heatsinks that come with the unit are a joke, Zalman! Fellow consumer, throw these away, and buy the Thermaltake all copper ones instead (about 11 extra dollars, but well worth it). Oh, and to prevent any memory heatsinks from falling off, ever, with any brand, scrape the stupid pre-applied thermal tape off and but some Arctic Silver Adhesive instead. It is an incredible epoxy that will bond like concrete, but it is as permanent as the grave, so be careful and ...
