Summary: I installed this cooler (along with the ZM-RHS70 heatsink) on my XFX 4870 1 GB card. Installation was easy, just time consuming (I was very thorough in my cleaning of all mating surfaces). The stock cooler was loud at anything more than 30% fan speed, and unfortunately at 30% fan speed the temps were around 52 C. With this cooler, 100% fan speed is still very quiet, and it manages to idle at 45 C. Not a drastic temperature improvement, but the noise reduction is awesome!
Pros: Very Quiet, High Quality
Cons: Didn't cool as much as I expected, Ram sinks not quite large enough for 4870 1 GB
Summary: Took me about an hour to mount on a Sapphire Radeon HD4850. No problems to speak of: the mounting studs fit perfectly, and the procedure was quite straightforward. I picked the VF1000 as a compromise between enormous size and lower performance, and so far it has come nicely up to my expectations. It uses up a second slot, but not a third, and cools things down about as much as anyone would need.
Summary: Took a Palit 8800GT Sonic from 54C idle, 68C load to 45C idle and 61C load... I didn't care too much about the temperature difference though - it was the noise that made me mad. This new fan is absolutely SILENT! Remember, you DO NOT NEED TO PURCHASE THE ADDITIONAL RAM HEATSINKS FOR THE 8800GT. THIS COMES WITH THEM. I would have liked it if the fan could have been powered off of the card itself, but instead requires you to plug it into the motherboard.
Pros: -nice looks, -keeps it cool, -silent!
Cons: -instructions were slightly wrong for my card (Palit 8800GT), -
