Summary: Used in a PC3-726 Koolance system. Purchased Zalman tubing, but was too small ID for the Koolance (10mm) system. Don’t forget to turn screws down one turn at a time as indicated in the manual. One person indicated he snapping his board, might not have followed this instruction or had a tolerance/obstruction issue. Under load this card would hit 93C and when it was dusty 101C. Wow, felt I needed to do something.
Pros: Very nice craftsmanship. Dropped idle and load temperatures by 20-30C depending on my systems fan speed and CPU overclocking. Yes, it removed that loud fan that is on these single slot cards. Price is good compared to others brands. Some extra parts.
Cons: I removed one egg for the following reasons; 1) Manual does not explain old fan removal and GPU, RAM, FET cleanup. 2) Zalman block connections have a smaller ID (8mm vs 10mm). Compensated by getting SS Clamps and clear silicon for connections. No Leaks. 3) Someone indicated that the threaded barbs are smaller than the tapped holes and they do seem loose fitting, countered by using Red Loctite so I did not feel the urge to crank down and possibly strip them out. 4) The...
Summary: fittings that come mounted on this are for SMALLER than 3/8OD / 10mm hose and works with zalman 8mm kit's and hoses. for a custom setup u will need to scrounge and find larger fittings to work with normal 3/8 hose or it WILL leak. u can try over-squezing hose with a worm clamp, but will very likely leak and definatly look ghetto. hooked this up to a 8mm hose/pump to leak check it and it leaked slow at first, i re-mounted fitting with loktite and that fixed it.
Summary: The fittings are smaller than 3/8 so metal pipe clamps must be used.
Pros: Lowered my 8800gts greatly, very heavy and no larger than the stock heat sink and fan that was mounted to it.
Cons: Had a problem with one of the fittings leaking into my psu of course that went up in a blaze of glory. Sent two messages asking how to get new fittings to Zalman three weeks ago today is 9/14 and i still have heard nothing form them. So i guess this will be a pricey paper weight until i can figure something out.
Summary: AMD 64 X2 6400+ | Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe | Reserator 2 with only the CPU block installed | LIAN LI PC-65B Mid-ATX Case |
Pros: Keeps my BFG OC 8600GTS 640MB around 50C from 66C under load, about 40C and lower at idle. I couldn't even touch my stock heatsink it was so hot, but with this I can. Looks great, its very solid, very fun to install.
Summary: also in the loop is an am2 Windsor 5200, running at 3gh. its temp is at 50C under load.
Pros: Cools 30+C better than stock cooler running at 100% fan speed! stock cooler under load was hitting 87C. with this bad boy and a zalman reseator2, that right not even active cooling, it maxes out at 52C! great cooler!
Cons: didnt get it sooner! barbs are made to fit zalman tubing small diameter.
Summary: Added a second EVGA 8800GTS. Case and motherboard configuration resulted in poor air flow. With stock air Cooler Idled at 62 went to 88 under full load. Used some parts I had around the house with this block. Now Idles at 38 and Highest temp I've seen was 46 while playing Crysis. Other GPU was at 76 with stock air cooler. Ordered a second block today.
Pros: Great performance. Good price for "full coverage" block. Good fit and finish.
Cons: Hose clamps and PVC washers missing from parts bag. They did provide extras of most other small parts.
Summary: ZALMAN I NEED THE PARTS BAG FOR YOUR ZM-GWB8800 GTS SO I CAN FINISH THIS.
Pros: This thing is heavy, but thin much smalller than the heat sink and fan that comes with the 8800 gts.
Cons: Removed my 8800 gts got it all apart and greased up. Quess what it didn't come with the parts bag shown here, NOTHING! The graese i already had but no screws, fittings or anything so i had to put it back together. I was going too add it in with my Nautilus 500 and an extra radiator. Please not a reflection on Newegg bacause they have been GREAT.ZALMAN I NEED THE PARTS BAG FOR YOUR ZM-GWB8800 GTS SO I CAN FINISH THIS.
