Works well

Anonymous, Newegg
14 December 2008
  • Summary: Water cooling works, but you need to be somewhat proficient at building and modding PCs. This was my first attempt, and it works well. But I'm an old tool maker, and I've built about 15-20 PCs before.
  • Pros: Seems well thought out/designed. This fits my Asus 4870 well even with the ram heatsinks on. 3/8 I.D. tubing from a Thermaltake kit. GPU temp has gone from 72C to around 50C while playing Crysis.
  • Cons: Wish it was copper. But the whole dissimilar metals thing doesn't hold up because all the radiators are aluminum. Copper just transfer heat faster/better.

Good cheep block

Daniel P., Newegg
29 February 2008
  • Summary: They could make a copper version of this, and I would probably get it. Could have a better lapping job, it's kinda rough.
  • Pros: Amazing little water block. Has TONS of potential. In my setup, set on a XFX Nvidia GeForce 8600gts overclocked to 800 core 1800 shader. Highest recorded temp of 51c. Idles at 43c.
  • Cons: Made out of Alum instead of Copper... But for $25, what are you gona gripe about?

Amazing value and quality

Andrei F., Newegg
27 February 2008
  • Summary: I will mod Corsair to fit inside the case. Will replace reservoir (tiny) and radiator (cheap aluminum).
  • Pros: I first installed on X1950Pro. Now running on 8800GT BIOS volt modded to 1.1v and OCed to 740MHz core. Load temps are 53C (AtiTool 45min) on GPU Core and 41C idle. Hooked to Corsair Nautilus 500 external kit. I also have Delphi CPU and Zalman NB WB in the same loop with 3/8" tubing.
  • Cons: It doesn't make a toast.

ZALMAN says it all...

Hellfire L., Newegg
4 September 2007
  • Summary: Well designed...and ZALMAN means a quality product.
  • Pros: (XXX EDITION)GeForce 8600GT's in SLI config...with preoverclocked cores at 620/800 and I over clocked that to 690/860. EVEREST measures GPU1 at 50DEGREES C- and GPU2 at 48DEGREES C- and since this is all in a passive cooling system I also have my CPU cooled on the same line and it's an AMD x2Opte...
  • Cons: They do take up some space...sticking out just a bit prevents me from being able to useing 2 of my PCI slots.

29 August 2007
  • Pros: Running GeForce 8800 GTS's in SLI configuration...currently, One is liquid cooled with Zalman's Reserator 1 Plus (WHICH uses this exact W.Block) and the other is on a stock fan...and the difference is approx. 10 Degrees...that's why I just ordered onther one for the other Card. Plus its an easy s...

x1900 XTX and Zalman cooler

Theresa K., Newegg
29 October 2006
  • Summary: It must be something else that needs to be cooled that this kit doesnt come with. I'm baffled.
  • Pros: Looks cool ? Keeps core cool.
  • Cons: I hooked this up to my x1900 XTX and my games are crashing now and I'm getting a heat warning from my catylyst control. I have all eight heatsinks on all 8 memory chips, just like the stock cooler had. I have the vga water block on the card exactly how they showed it to be and am getting 60c temp...
